We visited Guardian Peak this Sunday 24th Feb with my girlfriend for lunch, having booked a table. Weather was stunning and the restaurant is well placed with a magnificent view. It was full. We were placed at our table at the door and given menus. Our waiter then came and asked if we would like some drinks. We ordered some sparkling water and I ordered a glass of the Guardian Peak Sauvignon blanc, my girlfriend ordered an appletizer. We decided to share a starter of the squid which after a lengthy wait duly arrived with my girlfriends drink which had inexplicably changed from an appletizer to a grapetizer. I then asked the waiter if we could please get some of the fresh bread doing the rounds as no one had offered this to us. I also had no side plate which then arrived unceremoniously tossed on the table. The bread then arrived. In the meantime I still had not received my wine, so I asked the waiter if he had forgotten, I guess he had because it then arrived, bearing in mind this was probably 35 minutes into our visit. The service really was shoddy and a complete lack of attention. We had both ordered the venison shank which seemed to take forever to arrive and when it did, one of the staff, not our waiter literally walked up to the table and tossed the plates in front of us and walked off. No ...."here is your meal, please enjoy" ...nothing. I found his actions to be extremely rude and offensive. I called the manager to explain that the service is lacking and what had just happened, he apologised and said he would speak to whoever it was. I cannot fault the food, it was delicious, well presented and good portions. Unfortunately we decided not to continue with dessert, or to try any more wines as frankly the attitude and lack of service is shocking. Seriously, please get your waitrons trained in professional etiquette and how to engage with customers. I rate the food at 7.5 / 10 Service and people...
Read moreShocking and terrible experience we had for my sister’s birthday from our waitress Tino, she was extremely rude and looked disinterested on saving us. She told us that she did us a favour by serving us because none wanted to save us and went on and said “EVEN IF YOU WRITE A BAD REVIEW NO ONE WILL BELIEVE YOU AND YOU DIDN’T HAVE A BOOKING SO I DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU GONNA WRITE THAT REVIEW ” we were all surprised and left in disbelief of the level of arrogance and rudeness was just something else i had to stand up clean and pack the all the dirty plates and cutlery we had used myself because Tino was nowhere to be found when she she came it was difficult to say a simple thank you all the dishes were lying around after 1 hour 30 min of feasting when i ordered the last meal i was told you can only have the dessert now because the kitchen is closed at 3 wich wasn’t a problem at all but we would have appreciated if we were told earlier upon our arrival such that we could order before the kitchen closes i regret driving for 45 min to get such a treatment i asked her why she didn’t introduce herself to us and the response was because you can see my name in the name tag not mentioning the attitude of the guy called Heistings i think …..A SPECIAL THANKS to lovely Frina ,Tanaka and Cleo for taking good care of us considering the fact that we didn’t have a booking they made sure we were happy all the time and the food is just great ,succulent, fair potions and filling. We enjoyed our wine although it was difficult to get just an ice bucket to keep it chilled but it was great. Never to set my foot...

Today, my girlfriend and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Guardian Peak Wines, and wow—what an experience! From the breathtaking views of the vineyards and mountains to the incredible food and flawless service, everything was spot on.
I started with the venison tartare—beautifully prepared and packed with flavor. For the main event, I went for the 500g rump fillet, and let me tell you, it was perfection on a plate. My girlfriend had the beef burger, which she raved about as being one of the best she’s ever had.
What made our visit even more special was the personalized wine tasting arranged just for my girlfriend. She simply wanted to taste a few wines, and the staff went above and beyond to bring her a selection to sample. It was such a thoughtful touch, and the wines were exceptional—we ended up leaving with a whole box!
What truly stood out, beyond the amazing food and wine, was the exceptional service. The team made us feel welcome and ensured our meal was seamless from start to finish. Guardian Peak Wines isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience—one I’ll be recommending to everyone I know.
