Service The service is understaffed, we had to flag for multiple waiters to order our food and drinks

Management The management does an excellent job of going around and checking whether everything is doing alright. The management also goes out of their way to help you out.

Atmosphere/vibe The vibe was great, beautiful scenery. Lots for the kids to do and a mini-golf course for everyone.

Food 4.1. Wine and sushi pairing This is the reason I came, and I have to say that it was quite disappointing. The sushi wasn't great to begin with - the ingredients are fresh, but it's just not good sushi (and I love sushi). The wine was very average, nothing particularly special.

4.2. Southern fried chicken burger The chicken burger looks very delicious, but it was a 5/10. It wasn't very tasty, which is strange considering the berry compote, feta and rocket which are a good combination. The chicken was very fatty, which makes me wonder how "fried" it truly was.

4.3. Pizza The vegetarian pizza was quite tasty, likely the best item on the menu.

4.4. Sushi The salmon crunch roll was 6/10. The dragon fire roll was 7/10. The ingredients are fresh, and I can see that there went a lot of thought into the design, but the taste just isn't there yet. I love sushi, and I've had a lot of sushi, but this sushi just wasn't there for me.

Conclusion This is a great place to bring friends and family. It has wine tasting, mini-golf and a restaurant - so it's a nice day outing. Unfortunately, the restaurant struggles with staffing and food quality, which doesn't match the high price point. I'm disappointed and I sincerely hope they improve in these aspects...

5āļø Wines and absolutely love the Pinotage RosĆ©! Pleasant on the palate with floral , pomegranate and candyfloss notes. A beautiful wine for those long summer afternoons. We experienced a fantastic way of shopping for our favourite wine at Kanu today! a drive through experience like now other wine farm ever!! Cobus the ever so friendly/flamboyant manager greeted us at our vehicle with his beautiful smile.. (who can resist! 😁).. and informed us on the specials they had and even offered a wine tasting.. in our car! (Social distancing ā˜ŗļø). Our order was placed and within 5 minutes we drove off with our boot filled with the most delightful wines at excellent prices! The staff were extremely professional/friendly and there to see that their clients leave with happy faces! I highly recommend the Wine/farm/staff and especially Cobus! You are truly an asset to this Estate and wine industry! We’ll be back! Lily - Somerset West, Cape Town,...

Kanu Wines = Cobus Germishuys, you made our day! Our host, ā€œDie Wyn Engelā€ Angel of Wine We had the best experience ever, from beginning to end. What a warm welcome in a beautiful setting with great atmosphere. I love the interior and dĆ©cor!!! It’s all about the wine, isn’t it? It all started with the exquisite Giselle MCC Brut, 100% Chardonnay, I Love it, Love it! Next was the Wooded Viognier, I was over the moon and totally in love, just had to have a bottle to take home…I’m in LUV! KCB 2018 Great but still prefer my In LUV Viognier, my first choice if I must choose… Shiraz beautiful hints of white pepper and black berries at first sweet but change immediate to a savory taste. Cabernet Sauvignon my In Luv Red! Soft tannins with a medium but rich body and earthy tones, totally in love, again! This was my first but not last visit… Cheers to a Taste of Kanu Wines, I loved it! Went today, 9 March 2024 and Expected more from this establishment on a weekend. The service was subpar and the sommelier ( attendant) was not knowledgeable at all about the wines. We had to prompt her for info. The charcuterie platter was really not worth it for the price. The kitchen ladies couldn’t explain which items complimented which wines. Never seen passion fruit (šŸˆ ) on a charcuterie platter before. Everything was so little for two people. Don’t recommend. The decor however makes up for everything else. The cellar has no reception and we moved upstairs as a parent decided this is the ideal space for him to wrestle his son on the carpet in an adult environment. The upstairs environment really complimented the wine. The pricing is however high end for the average South African. Bathroom are unisex. Winetasting is separate from the rest of activities.
