Fazila Soobramoney We visited Warwick Wine Estate , a 45-minute drive we didn't mind making as we were excited to spend Heritage Day together as a family, enjoying a lovely lunch.
But to my absolute disappointment, I don't even know whether to laugh or cry. The establishment is in such a terrible state—it's heartbreaking. The picnic pods were almost submerged in water, with no warning signs to make us aware of the situation. It was so unsafe.
We ordered lunch, and my advice is: never, ever order their Cobb salad. Before I could even take a picture, the manager swiftly took it away aftee mentioning that this will be going on to social media, and I was in shock. I still can't wrap my head around it.
On top of that, my kids were starving because we had to wait so long just for burgers and fries. Even my 6-year-olds noticed that other guests were being served before us. Now, it was Heritage Day, so I'm not jumping to conclusions, but we waited forever. Then things took a turn: no chai lattes, no juices except for apple juice boxes for the kids, no hot sauce, no Tabasco—nothing. At this point, I had to ask the waitress what was really going on. How could they have nothing available? And no, they weren't busy at all. Warwick Wine Estate, are you closing down, or does your service just really suck? I've never been this embarrassed or disappointed in a long time. We're absolute foodies and visit estates regularly—this isn't my first time at Warwick, but this experience left me completely shocked. What a wasted day. What a disappointment! Fazila ...
Read moreMy husband and I visited the Warwick Winery and we did a tasting and a picnic which were simply awesome. We did 2 types of tasting, which included everything from intermediate wines to more elaborate and award winning wines. After the tasting we did a short tour of the wine storage and production site and finished with a picnic that perfectly matched not only with the drinks but with the picnic place (a lawn with large comfortable cushions, a sun umbrella and a landscape beautiful to enjoy the moment with tranquility). Added to the great wines and the delicious food, the professionalism and charisma of the winery's employees made a difference in our delicious experience. We indicate and already want to return to Warwick Wine Estate.
Read moreThis is my second visit to Warwick and unfortunately it was very disappointing. While the food and ambience was great, the service was extremely slow and haphazard. It undermined the experience. I don't know if there was a specific issue yesterday, but despite the place being fairly empty, service was extremely slow and inaccurate. We only had 2 courses and 1 round of drinks, but by dessert, orders were incorrect and came bit by bit. It took over 45 minutes to pay the bill, which was incorrectly printed 3x (missing the deposit amount, missing food items etc. which we clarified so we could pay correctly. If we were not honest, it would have cost the business a lot of money) There were several patrons attempting to order and pay inside and it was clear they were increasingly frustrated. The staff were generally friendly but clearly not coping and there did not appear to be any management present to coordinate or assist, which is extremely poor for a wine farm that maintains it is a destination of choice and which charges such high prices. We had wanted to purchase wine and goods from the shop but it was so hard to get service or pay that we gave up, another loss of revenue. Unfortunately I will neither return to nor recommend Warwick again. I've now read reviews on Dineplan and see that the concerns about service have been noted for over 6 weeks in 99% or reviews for food, and while there has been an admirable response online, it has not translated to the customer experience...
