The highlight of the park is undoubtedly the meticulously designed light rails, featuring both steam and electric locomotives. Embarking on these whimsical train rides provides an enchanting journey through the park's captivating landscape. I highly recommend you choose the entrance ticket that includes unlimited train rides. While the complimentary ride ticket allows for a single trip on one of the trains, the unlimited option ensures you can fully immerse yourself in the magic of both the steam and electric locomotives, embarking on multiple captivating journeys. The park itself is a sight to behold, with vast green lawns, beautiful trees, and carefully tended plants. Nature lovers will find tranquility in the peaceful surroundings, while children can have a blast in the well-designed jungle gym areas, guaranteeing endless hours of laughter and play. When hunger strikes, you'll be pleased to find a food truck and coffee shop at your service, offering a delicious array of treats to satisfy your cravings. Alternatively, guests are more than welcome to bring their own picnic baskets and blankets to fully embrace the park's picnic-friendly ambiance. Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a wonderful, approximately 2 hour experience at Winelands Light Railway......that was until the self-identified owner showed up and got involved in the train rides and rudely ordered my kids to get out of the wagon they occupied as they apparently entered from the wrong side and should have queued on the other side. This specific ride was not even full. After this specific ride left the station, I approached him and advised that, in my opinion, the rules should either be explained beforehand, or be clearly indicated on a sign at the "station". At this point he got even more rude and inter alia told me that he's the owner and built everything himself. Your efficient, friendly staff are more than capable of handling...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI experienced utter racism at this place . After paying R130 for an unlimited train ride experience until 4pm . My child was told at 3pm there are no trains . I was told to my face that we should settle for the electric train as everything is closing up . After we left the same guy that just told us everything is closed started filling up the train with a certain race .
After seeing our fuming faces , he made a space for us and joked to his group of people ā come on guys this is the last now ā .
After us getting off , he started filling up the trains with this group of people when he just said everything is closed and thatās the last . The train went around at least 4 times after . We went to the ticket office where this lady which I assume is the park manager was just in ādisbelief ā and couldnāt understand how trains are still running but sheās allowing it . Because of her guilty conscience she offered for my child to feed the animals .
Beautiful place...
