Marras Wines — Attraction in Swartland Local Municipality

Sad to see how the quality of the food slowly deteriorates. This is now the third time that we have eaten there in the last couple of weeks and definitely the worst. We had 2 stuffed chicken breast and smoked Carpaccio. The carpaccio was nice but presentation not to the usual standard. The chicken was well loved in its previous life and lived to a ripe old age before ending up on our plates. It was fed only the best feeds for laying hens, you could still taste all the fishmeal in the meat. As it is claimed that only organic chicken is served it must have lived next to a fishmeal factory, in a field full of predators it was so tough it must have spend it’s whole life running. I'm really a great fan of Marras wines and restaurant in Riebeek West and with the news that a so called great Italian chef is going to run this restaurant I definitely wanted to try it out. Sorry to say but it was my worst food experience that I ever had. Service was still great but the owners must really re-think this new partnership. I personally would not go forward with this partnership. You had a great recipe, Why did you go this way? We booked a wine tasting as part of our trip. When the bus arrived there. We were ushered into a hall and instructed to stand as we were a big group. The place was very empty. So we tryed sitting down but the manager told us to go stand outside in the hot sun. We decided to leave poor service and disgusting attitude. They lost around R10k for us leaving.
