Merindol Manor — Hotel in Swartland Local Municipality

This review is relatively objective being my 17th road trip, staying at 18 properties over a 43 night period.||I stayed one night solo in February.||Easily found in a quiet part of town, but within walking distance of shops & restaurants. Secure parking.||Very welcoming, pleasant and hands on owner.||Wonderfully restored old house with a perfect blend of old and new. Very pleasant gardens and pool area.||Large, comfortable and well equipped air conditioned bedroom. Aircon not needed by me due to the natural coolness of the high ceilings room. Good quality bed linen and excellently fitted bathroom.||Breakfast cooked to order was excellent.||Good WiFi throughout.||Highly recommended and if in the area again...

What an amazing experience! The hosts are phenomenal, and this gorgeous historical house has been looked after with such care. A versatile holiday option, you can rest and relax at the manor on the porch or by the pool or get out with the various hiking trails, wine farms, historical sights, etc etc. Do not miss the sunsets and sunrises from the porch - as the views of the valley are breath taking! Merindol Manor (@merindolmanor) is a beautiful heritage building, rich in charm and history, in the heart of the Riebeek Valley.||We stayed in the Chenin room which has the iconic copper bathtub which was as luxurious as it looks. ||The property has lush gardens, a cozy interior, and fresh farm-to-table breakfasts using ingredients grown on the property itself. The breakfast at Merindol is perhaps the best breakfast I have had at any accommodation establishment (ie hotel, BnB, guesthouse, etc).||Special thanks to Vincent, the most attentive and passionate host, who ensured everything was perfect and his incredible dog Bon Bon.||I cannot wait to...
