Hi All.

I don’t even know where to begin, but let me say this loud and clear: DO NOT GO TO VAN BOU FISHING. This place is an absolute disaster from the moment you step foot on their property to the second you (hopefully) leave. I wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy.

First of all, let’s talk about the basics. There were NO FISH. NONE. For a place that calls itself a fishing spot, that’s already scammy enough. People were casting their lines over each other like it was some kind of chaotic circus. There wasn’t even enough space to sit down properly—no room for chairs, no tables, nothing. It was a mess. And don’t even get me started on the state of the facilities. The showers were disgusting—like, straight-up filthy—and the toilets? I don’t even have words. You’d think for the money they charge, they’d at least clean the place, but nope.

Now, the accommodations. We stayed in what they call a “hood house,” and let me tell you, it was like staying in a prison cell. There was NO SPACE at all. The double bunk beds were so close to the ceiling that every time you lifted your head, you’d slam right into it. It was cramped, uncomfortable, and just plain miserable. Definitely not a place for families—or anyone with basic standards of living, honestly.

But the worst part? The way we were treated. It was downright disgusting. The staff monitored us 24/7, walking around like they were prison wardens, making sure we never left their eyesight. It was creepy and made us feel completely unwelcome. They even confiscated some of our belongings during our stay, for reasons that made absolutely no sense. And while they were busy harassing us, they NEVER once came to check on us or ask if we were okay. They didn’t clean up after us, they didn’t maintain the place, and it was clear they couldn’t care less about our experience.

Meanwhile, the white guests were allowed to do whatever they wanted. They were out there having their fun, no questions asked, while we were treated like we didn’t belong. The discrimination was so blatant, it was sickening. And then, to top it all off, they kicked us out at 2 A.M. on a Saturday night for “making too much noise.” We were just enjoying ourselves, nothing crazy, but apparently that was enough to get us thrown out in the middle of the night. It was humiliating and completely unacceptable.

Van bou Fishing is the definition of a scam. It’s dirty, overcrowded, poorly managed, and the staff is rude and discriminatory. They take your money and give you absolutely nothing in return except stress and frustration. If you’re thinking about going, DON’T. Save yourself the time, money, and headache, because this place is a complete and utter joke.

ZERO out of TEN. I wouldn’t recommend this...

Ths is the worst place ever.... 1st we wanted to stay only one knight... not alowed you have to book full weekend... 2nd if you get a bite you won't land it because there is a 100 rods in the water and snags..the space to fish is not enough for the accommodation...the bathrooms are a mess... The Wendy's are worst than a tent...

I can wright a book and call it SCRAP...

i will never waist my money like that again...please guys think carefully before booking you will...

We came here for sister inlaws birthday and met the owner that gave us a very special tour of our history. We are staying for a howl week but this first 2 days has been a blast we caught a few fish and had n few good runs that got away but part of it. This resort is clean to the final spec of grass and the best to get away from technology. The lady's need not worry the bathrooms is clean and ever ready for use. Thanx 2 the owners and staff of Van Bo. Im...

Van Bo fishing resort is clean, there is no loud music and a person feels safe there. It is a beautiful place with a pool mini put-put jungle gyms for the kids and a pool table. If you don't want to cook or braai you can order food from the owner. If you don't have cutlery or bedding you can hire from the owner. There are caves that the owner takes you to and tells you all about the caves. It's really a nice place to visit.

Scamped sardiens in a can... Fishing space are way to small. Wendy' Are not what we expected. This is more a tool shack than a place to overnight. For the money we paid, we did not get the value. A water point closer, a kettle and a microwave might help. Thanx but a big no thank you. Sorry to say.
