My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kedu River Lodge, nestled on the serene banks of the Vaal River. Our winter getaway was nothing short of spectacular, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and comfort.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the lodge’s picturesque setting. The tranquil river views and lush surroundings provided a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The accommodations were immaculate and thoughtfully designed, ensuring a cozy and relaxing stay. The owner Lynne and her staff were amazing.

One of the highlights of our visit was the sense of safety and freedom it offered our 4-year-old daughter. She delighted in exploring the grounds, walking independently between our cabin and the river. The secure environment allowed her to fully embrace her childhood curiosity and playfulness, which was beautiful to witness.

The staff at Kedu River Lodge were exceptional, providing warm and attentive service throughout our stay. Their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident in every interaction, making us feel truly welcomed and cared for.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well maintained and kept the lodge is, It is very pretty, well organised and the views are stunning! In the past, I have usually found that these Vaal river lodges are dated and not as well maintained as the photo's would have you believe, however at Kedu this is not the case! It is well designed, finishes are great and the accommodation was fantastic. Other than the lodge being in immaculate condition, you will be well looked after by your hosts Lynn and Peter, who go out of their way to make sure you are as comfortable as possible...magic people! We came here to fish and relax with our kids, if we could get them out of the awesome pool, the fishing area on the riverfront was good, plus you have rapids a few hundred meters down the way, in which we caught excellent large yellow fish, it is good for fly fishing or live bait fishing, you choose! What a nice place for camping. Although the leaves started dropping due to autumn, the area is stunningly looked after. We were a group of four caravan campers with another one at land and we had a nice weekend from 23 to 25 March 18. The tariff at R400 per night is in line with other caravan camping resorts with the same grading. Grass that ends at water edge and a stunning spot for anglers. Catch and release policy applied throughout. Ablution facilities very clean and modern is an advantage for us campers. Kedu consist of a bar area with TV on the brim of the Vaal river, partially overhanging the river. The people is very helpful and friendly as well.
