The Queen Rose 3-night hike is an absolute gem for any nature lover or hiking enthusiast, from start to finish. The terrain is beautifully varied — from lush indigenous forests and bubbling mountain streams to rolling hills and scenic views. Every step of the trail offers something new and refreshing, keeping the hike both exciting and rewarding.
What really sets this experience apart, though, is the incredible hospitality. Thea and Willie are phenomenal hosts who go above and beyond. Everything was perfectly organized and thoughtfully prepared.
The accommodation was a highlight in itself. Each night brought a warm, comfortable space to rest and recover. Whether it was a cozy cottage or a rustic cabin, we were always met with cleanliness, charm, and those small comforts that make a big impact after a long day on the trail.
All in all, the Queen Rose hike offers a perfect mix of adventure, natural beauty, and genuine hospitality. Highly...
Read moreIn context of hiking overnight accommodation and camp facilities, this is as good as it gets! There are different accommodation options; they are all noticeably clean and well equipped. We stayed in the hikers house. The beds are comfortable, the linen clean, the kitchen has everything you need including two fridges, a microwave and all crockery and cutlery. There is a spacious lounge area with a lovely stoep for early morning coffee. The bathrooms have stunning showers and seperate toilets. The hiking trails are very well marked, well maintained and offer spectacular views and quite moments along the river towards the waterfall. This is a very special treasure indeed. The mountains are calling, and this is definitely the...
Read moreThis is a fairly well maintained trail with excellent hikers huts. They are spotlessly clean with hot water ablutions and have braai facilities and all the cutlery and crockery you need. I was always able to find stepping stones so never had to remove my boots at crossings. The gradients are fairly steep in places so make sure your boots fit well and laces are tight. The caretakers are a pleasant and helpful couple and for a small fee will have firewood waiting at the...
