(Oktober 2022) We went by public bus to the southern point/Skywalk, which was unfortunately closed at that time. There is a little shop and toilets near by, which was good before the start of our walking tour. There is a little shop around half way, it seemed open but there was no one selling anything. To be safe, take enough water for the whole trip, in case it‘s closed.

It took us around 4 hrs of walking the 4.7km (red path), resting and taking pictures. We really enjoyed the walk along the coast, especially because towards the end the sun was setting and we had a nice view towards Haeundae beach.

It goes up and down, both on paths and stairs that are well laid out. We hardly met any other hikers. On the way, there was even first aid equipment at a seating area. Very exemplary! We finished at the north end and took the public bus near Dongsangyo bridge.

We‘d definitely...

Igidae, located in Busan, is one of Korea's national parks and one of the major tourist destinations in Gyeongnam. Igidae is a representative scenic spot in Korea. It is located on the way up along the coastline, and the natural scenery is wonderful.

Igidae is designated as Natural Monument No. 197 and is located on top of a hill 156m above sea level. Igidae is also famous as a place that appeared in the lyrics of the popular song 'Yeosu Night Sea' in the 1970s.

The architectural meaning has to do with the natural landscape rather than the Igidae itself. From Igidae, you can see Busan's attractions such as Haeundae Beach, Gwangan Bridge, and Yeongdo at a glance. Also, because Igidae is high above sea level, you can enjoy the wonderful coastal and city scenery along the coastline. Igidae is a representative observatory in Busan and is one of the most popular tourist destinations for tourists visiting Busan.

The coastal view here is beautiful. We started from Oryukudo and headed north on the path that hugs the coast. Some reviews say that the hike is easy, but I found it a bit difficult since it’s pretty much all stairs. Older folks and those that don’t exercise regularly will find it difficult. The path was well maintained, though there were parts that were quite narrow. We only walked 2/3 of the way before leaving the hiking path and going upwards to the sidewalk next to the road for cars. That was much easier to walk and is an option if you’re tired from the stairs. There are many paths connecting the hiking path to the road, so it is easy to make a quick escape. However, the view there is blocked by trees next to the road. The entire hike could probably take half a day if you stop to take pictures along the...

I began the coastal walk from the Oryukdo skywalk. Signs say it takes 2.5 hours to walk the entire length of the coastal walk, but it took me only 2 hours at my liesurely pace. The coastal walk is a hilly hike through a forest along the Oryukdo coast. The trail is mixed, with some wooden paths and steps, and some rocky parts to traverse. There are some opportunities to clamber down on the rocks where some people might be fishing. If you're feeling like not doing the whole walk, I recommend going to the northern start point and hiking only 20 minutes to a plaza that looks like a big amphitheatre before turning around. That stretch had the best views of Busan and is not very difficult to traverse.
