좋겠다 대구는 많은 한국 근대화가들의 고향이라서.. 이쾌대 이인성!!!!!! If you wanna know korean artists/painters in 50s and after, should visit. Daegu is the homeland of manynof modern artists. Especially two big artists: Lee Insung and Lee Qoede. Lots of their works are here and influencing/influenced works as well.

이건희 컬렉션 공개 전시를 기회로 다녀왔습니다. 예약은 홈페이지 통해 인터파크 예약을 미리 해야 합니다. 입장료는 무료고 사전 예약만 하면 되니 꼭하시기 바랍니다. 평일이고 시간대별 예약이 다 차지 않는 경우 현장 입장도 가능하지만 이건희 컬렉션 전시 인기가 많아 풀북될 가능성이 높으니 이왕이면 예약하고 방문하길 추천드립니다. 비가 많이 오는 날이었는데 주차장과 미술관 전시실 입구가 그리 멀지 않아서 비를 많이 맞지는 않았네요. 입구에 우산보관함이 있습니다. 입구에서 방문인증과 예약자 확인을 하고 입장 가능합니다. 11시 타임 예약을 했는데 10시 30분에 입장 가능했습니다 .10시타임 예약자가 다 차지 않아서 수용 인원에 여유가 좀 있다고 하네요. 정해진 시간에 들어가면 나가는 시간은 따로 통제하지는 않습니다. 내부에 기프트샵이나 카페 같은것들은 따로 운영하지 않고 오로지 전시실만 운영하고 있습니다. 현재 진행 전시는 3가지로, 이건희컬렉션이 메인입니다. 대구 아티스트 특별전의 형태로 차계남 개인전이 운영중이고 기획전 하나 더 운영되고 있습니다. 이건희 컬렉션을 보러 대구라는 도시에 방문한 셈인데 의외로 차계남 화백의 작품이 무척 좋았네요. 다만 차계남 전시 영상실의 영상물은 자막이 들어가야 할 것 같습니다. 자막 없이는 소리가 작고 울려 알아듣기 힘듭니다. 평일 11시 타임에 가도 사람은 많아서 줄을 서서 봐야 할 정도입니다. 주말은 더 많을것 같네요. 그래도 소란스럽지는 않습니다. 직원분들도 다 친절하시네요. 대구라는 도시 방문이 처음인데, 대구미술관은 대구 시내와는 거리가 좀 있습니다. 서울로 치면 과천 국립현대미술관 같은 느낌입니다.

It appears that they only have temporary exhibits but whoever curates them is great at their job. I spent a lovely afternoon here and was moved in unexpected ways. The entry fee is only 1000 Won; less than a dollar! Worth it a hundred times over. Spectacular!

This art museum is beautiful. I went with a friend and my husband and we had a wonderful time just walking around. There isn't anything nearby so plan ahead for the bus or taxi. We couldn't find any taxis and waited half an hour for the bus.

Even with COVID-19 precautions in place (e.g., only 50 people every 2 hours), it's still a lovely place to visit. Information about the exhibits was available in Korean and English, which I greatly appreciated.

Lovely space to experience different forms of art , located in a very nature friendly place. Good for families, another art gallery nearby, and a nice coffee shop next door to finish the art gallery tour.
