왕모래로 이뤄진 영흥도 대표 해수욕장이에요. 둥근 해안선이 해변의 운치를 더합니다. 부드럽지는 않은 모래사장이지만 맨발로 걷기 나쁘진 않아요. 영흥도선착장에서 십리(4km) 거리라고 해서 십리포라고.

수심은 1m 정도로 물놀이하기 괜찮습니다. 영흥도 해수욕장 중 가장 수영할만한 곳이에요. 튜브 대여도 가능합니다. 다만 간조 때는 뻘이 생겨서 바닷물을 찾아볼 수 없습니다. 이때는 갯벌체험 운영해요.

화장실ㆍ세면장ㆍ샤워실ㆍ물놀이장 구비 지정된 장소에서 야영·취사 가능, 주차장 차박 불가

350그루가 넘는 소사나무 군락지도 볼거리에요. 150년 전 방풍림으로 만들어진 숲인데 현재는 보호림으로 지정돼 들어갈 수 없습니다. 20여년 전 여기 숲에 텐트쳤다가 강풍에 저희 텐트만 팔랑팔랑 날아가 수치스러웠던 기억도 추억이네요.

몇 해 전에 해안탐방로가 생겼는데 걸어볼만 합니다. 인천답지 않은 풍경이 꽤 멋져요. 총 연장은 진여부리해변까지 1km 가량 될듯 한데, 200m 지점 전망대까지만 가셔도 충분히 아름다운 풍경을 마주할 수 있습니다.
