종달 고망난돌쉼터 — Attraction in Jeju

Bad bad bad - a rest area but no proper signage and worst - a road that is totally caved-in! Cars got stuck, I was not the only one! Jeju has very poor road maintenance despite all the safety it has like unlimited speed controls… even on weekends where there are no schools? Not fully ready for tourists like these places - should have put up signage or chains to STOP people from driving in, afterall it says REST AREA/REST STOP!

Another car just drove straight in and got stuck in the mud. And did not even attempt to stop me when I approached the entrance. 🤦🏽

Bad bad experience of Jeju.

No parking nearby to stop and try to enjoy the scenery and such so avoid...

Good place to visit while traveling in the southern port city of Seokuipo. I enjoyed this more than the jeju market it seemed less intense and cleaner. They even have sitting arrangements through the market with an indoor man-made little...

제주도 북동부 끝의 종달리 해안에 있다. 고망난돌은 '구멍이 뚫린 돌'이라는 뜻의 제주 고유어로, 명칭은 돌이지만 실상은 거대한 규모의 바위이다.

한가운데 큰 구멍이 뚫려 있으며 전체적으로 반원형을 이루는 검은색의 거대한 바위가 드넓은 에메랄드빛 바다를 배경으로 해안의 깎아지른 듯한 절벽 위에 자리 잡고 있는 모습이 장관을 이룬다. 2009년 7월 제주시가 기존의 관광 명소 이외에 제주시 일대의 대표적인 장소 31곳을 선정해 발표한 '제주시 숨은 비경 31' 중 하나이다. (두산백과)
