Gimnyeong Maze Park (Jeju Island): A Fun and Engaging Maze Adventure (4/5 Stars)

Rating:

• Maze Design: 4/5 (Unique maze shaped like Jeju Island, incorporating historical and cultural symbols)

• Activities: 4.5/5 (Free 3-wheel tricycles, skywalks, observatory, mini golf course, and other games)

• Value: 4/5 (Reasonable entrance fees, discounts for groups and seniors)

Overall: 4/5

Donkey and I were so excited to visit Gimnyeong Maze Park as we heard it was a unique and challenging attraction on Jeju Island

We loved the beautiful park, with lush greenery and lots of trees. We loved the fact that the maze is shaped like Jeju Island, and it's really cool how it incorporates historical and cultural symbols like the serpent, the Jeju horses, and the shipwrecked vessel. It was really interesting to learn about the history of the park.

The park even offers free 3-wheel tricycles that use momentum to move around. Donkey and I had a blast riding them through the park. The tricycles came in different sizes, so we could choose the perfect one for our height and they are well-maintained. It's also free.

We tried navigating the maze without a map, and it was actually pretty easy. We managed to find our way out relatively quickly. The park staff even gave us some cat food to feed the many friendly cats that roam around the park.

We even took some great photos on the skywalks and the observatory, where you get amazing views of the entire maze.

The park also has a mini golf course. There are also several other games available in the park, so there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Overall, Gimnyeong Maze Park was a great experience for us. It's a fun and engaging place to visit, especially if you're looking for something unique and different to do on Jeju Island. The entrance fee was reasonable, and it's great that they offer discounts for groups and seniors.

Here are the admission fees:

• Adults (19 years and older): ₩8,800 (individual), ₩7,700 (group of 30+)

• Youth (13–18 years): ₩7,700 (individual), ₩6,600 (group)

• Children (3–12 years): ₩6,600 (individual), ₩5,500 (group)

• Seniors (60 years and older): ₩7,700 (individual, free for those 70+), ₩6,600 (group)

• Jeju residents/Permanent residents: ₩7,700 (individual), ₩6,600 (group) (specific conditions may apply)

If you're looking for a unique and fun-filled family activity on Jeju Island, Gimnyeong Maze Park is a fantastic choice. We visited with three kids, and it was an absolute blast! The maze is cleverly designed, resembling the shape of the Jeju Haetae, a mythical creature known to protect the island. The tall, lush green hedges not only provide a delightful challenge but also make you feel like you're on an adventure in a secret garden.

Navigating through the maze was a perfect combination of fun and challenge, keeping the kids engaged and excited throughout. The statues and sculptures dotted around add a touch of Jeju's rich cultural heritage, making it a learning experience as well. After about an hour of playful navigation, the viewing platform offered a rewarding panoramic view of our accomplished maze journey and the beautiful surrounding landscapes.

The park is well-maintained with clean facilities, and the staff are friendly and helpful, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. The on-site cafe was a great spot to relax and grab a snack after our maze adventure. Overall, Gimnyeong Maze Park is an excellent outdoor activity for families. It offers a memorable experience that combines fun, education, and the natural beauty of Jeju Island, making it a must-visit for anyone traveling with kids. A solid five stars for a...

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE WELFARE OF ANIMALS! We arrived here and immediately saw many cats at the entrance. A lot of them were very skinny, matted and ill looking. There were signs explaining each of the cats and explained that the sick ones were being treated with medication but that wasn’t the truth at all, they were very dirty and not looked after. We decided to go to a nearby 7/11 and buy them food and when we fed them, they all ate it so quickly because they were starving. Many of the staff also walked past us and told us to “be careful” of some of the cats as they might scrab or bite when in fact they were just sick cats that needed help. I am disgusted with this place and I hope no one comes here and gives their money to this place!
