Manjanggul Cave is located in Manjanggul-gil, Gujwa-eup. It took 30minutes to go there by a plane and we traveled by car to Manjanggul Cave. I bought a ticket right at the entrance of Manjanggul Cave because I had to buy a ticket to enter it. The price of the ticket was 4,000 won for adults and 2,000 won for students and Manjanggul Cave is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Manjanggul Cave is said to be a cave made of lava from a volcanic eruption. The Manjanggul Cave was magnificent when I saw it in person and various colorful lights were shining in the cave. The deeper I went into the cave, the colder it got. Also, water flowed little by little inside the cave, and very large sculptures were displayed inside. The season was summer and the weather outside was really hot, but when I felt cold in the cave, I was amazed by the temperature difference between the cool cave and the hot outside. What I felt when I visited Manjanggul Cave for 1-2 hours is really different from what we made artificially, the heritage created by natural phenomena and the heritage created by humans are different differ and it will be difficult for humans to follow. If you want to visit a cultural heritage site in nature coolly in the summer, I highly recommend...

At up to 23m wide, 30m high and 8.928km long, it is the 12th-longest lava tube in the world and the second longest on Jeju island. It is regarded as having significant scientific and heritage value, owing to its excellent condition of preservation despite its age of formation (about 300,000 to 200,000 years ago). Lava stalactites and lava stalagmites, lava columns, lava flowstone, lava helictites, lava blisters, cave coral, benches, lava rafts, lava bridges, lava shelves, grooved lava striations, and ropy lava are well-preserved. Among them, a lava column of 7.6 m is the largest known in the world. There are three entrances and No. 2 heading southward is open to the public.

Entrance No. 3 contains the most favorable habitats for cave life and between Entrances 1 and 2, there is a lower level main tube where most of the living creatures can be found. In the Geomunoreum Lava Tube System, the Manjanggul Lava Tube has the greatest number of living creatures, including the Jeju cave-spider. In the upper part of Entrance 2, there are at least 30,000 common bent-wing bats forming the largest colony of bats confirmed to be living in...

Supposed to be largest lava cave in the world. Only about 1km is open to public. Very dark inside. There's informative signs along the way regarding different aspects of the cave. Really cool experience and would recommend. The cave is a bit chilly walking in and once you're in the cave there is a trail for you to walk through. There are different information signs that share more information with you in the cave. It's a bit damp and the ground is not totally smooth to walk on so need to be careful if you have small children. Visitors should note that the path is uneven, wet and tend to be slippery. Nonetheless it is still manageable when proper footwear is worn.I had a good time but it's not a full day trip, I think max maybe an hour and a half. Definitely recommend going as soon as it opens at 10. Very calm and easy to take your time with no other people around. About 1030~1100 it was getting pretty crowded. Nice for half-day trip. The cave itself isn't so "amazing" as it simply two kilometers (one each way) path in dark atmosphere (and cold so bring some cover). Would recommend combining it with...

Fascinating cave that you'd never know was there if it weren't for the small bus stop off the main road and the few mentions of it on traffic signs. It feels like it's kind of in the middle of nowhere, and getting to it by public transportation takes a little while from Jeju City (and even longer from Seogwipo), but it's worth it. Although there is some of the flourescent, Christmas-style lighting in the cave which is so common in Asian countries, it is relatively tame and for the most part doesn't interfere with the natural beauty of the cave. And man, is it beautiful. The size of the cave in some areas is really impressive, and the rock formations on the walls and the ceilings are equally impressive. Walking the length of the cave doesn't take very long and the walk is for the most part flat, but since it's a cave there is no shortage of moisture, so a decent pair of hiking shoes wouldn't be a bad idea, but even in sneakers, Manjanggul is a pretty easy stroll for almost anyone. Highly recommended
