1.DO NOT GO if it's RAINING I saw reviews that people went and it was closed so We didn't try.
Height restriction: Please note that they strictly don't allow kids 110cm and under so please measure if you want to bring your child. I didn't read anything about this so was disappointed that my child could not go and we had to take turns to experience it. It is windy on top, and shaky when people are walking, so I do understand why they do not allow young kids.
There is a 5-10 mins stairs and nature walk before you reach the space walk.
No toilets there so go down the hill before walking up. Great view and worth the experience. Free of charge, no limit on time, take your time to enjoy it.
Do note that during the weekends it might hit the 150 people mark, and then you will have to queue and wait until people get down.
At the steeper parts, it's safer to keep 2-3 steps distance between people, but that is not regulated, so it felt like they can accidentally fall and cause a Domino effect.
Overall I enjoyed the view of Pohang and beach; the wind from above and also walking in nature before arriving at the space walk.
Lastly the misconception is that you can go a loop, but actually there is a loop that goes upside down which you cannot climb and it's closed on both sides. Still a nice view and enjoyable if the weather is good.
PS. Bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise, there was a lady screaming every 2 steps because she was scared of heights. I was afraid she will pee below...
Read moreThe total track length of Pohang's Space Walk is 333 meters. It occupies a space of 60 meters wide and 57 meters long with a height of 25 meters. A smooth and magnificent work of art, it flows gracefully in varying shapes and curves providing a thrill to those who dare.
The Space Walk was gifted by POSCO (formerly Pohang Iron and Steel Company), a steel manufacturer headquartered in Pohang using 100% of its own steel. I have not heard of POSCO before but this company is one of the biggest in the world. I read up a little bit on the company and felt like reading up on one of the case studies for my Technology and Innovation Management graduate program.
This beautiful Space Walk is free entry and dominates the skyline of Hwanho Park. A new tourist attraction for Pohang, it was opened in November 2021 and has won...
Read moreHwanho Park Space Walk. Opened only in Nov 2021, this is like a roller coaster that is made of steps for walking! That was my first thought when I saw this structure. Yes, I am in the city of Pohang, home to POSCO, a South Korean steel-making company and also one of the largest steelmakers in the world. The city is filled with structures of steel everywhere but this Space Walk is the one to go to. And yes, being made of steel, at some of the higher points of the structure, you can actually feel it shaking. Safe to say that my aged heart had a little scare when I first felt the shaking. Oh, and if you are wondering how you can walk the loop? Well you obviously cannot unless you can defy gravity plus the steps leading to the loop on both ends are closed off. Definitely a must visit if you are a roller coaster...
