시오름 — Attraction in Seogwipo-si

A stunning natural formation located on the wonderful and mysterious volcanic island of Jeju. After descending from the central volcano, we taxied through the soft and idyllic Jeju countryside to this UNESCO park. The tickets were incredibly cheap and we were fortunate enough to claim the last ones of the day. The underground tube plunges quick into the Earth. The stairs you start out on soon end, and the decline levels off into a flat, wet, and cold surface of black basalt. Within the Earth is an amazing place to be. The artificial lights are spectral, shining in pools of water gathered in the wrinkles of the hardened lava floor. There's very little to complain about here and the sights are unforgettable. 서귀포 치유의숲 꼭대기가 시오름임 여기가 정상인가? 할 정도로 의구심이 드는 오름 꼭대기는 볼품없는 작은 팻말과 나무 의자 한개가 전부임. 치유의숲은 오름정상 보다는 휴식과 치유를 목적으로 가심이 좋을듯 올라가는길은 포장이 잘되있어서 불편없고, 간혹 멧되지를 만나는데(내려올때 만났음^^) 소리치지말고 두눈을 응시하면 천천히 뒤걸을 쳐서...
