On our first day in Seoul, we went to Haneul Park since we wanted to take advantage of the really nice weather (albeit cold). We've already decided beforehand that we will commute so we took the bus from Toegye-ro to the World Cup Stadium bus stop. Unfortunately, we missed the right bus stop (it should be World Cup Stadium Complex 1 instead of 3). We were aiming for the Seoul World Cup Stadium and we didn't know that the complex is really large and there are several ways to get to Haneul via the Stadium Complex. By the way, you can also visit the Seoul World Cup Stadium and Fantasium as a side trip.
Nevertheless, our little mishap was all worth it because while we were trying to find Haneul park, we passed by another park with loads of trees (which I just recently learned is Noeul Park). The park is really beautiful! In fact, my fiance and I were able to take some pre-nup photos in some of the benches in the park because the trees are in full autumn colors! If you're not in a hurry to go to Haneul, you can try dropping off to Noeul Park and be amazed by its beauty during Autumn!
Upon reaching the end of the Noeul Park going to Haneul Park, you'll have two options to get inside: by walking around 15-20 mins to an uphill road or take an electric tram which costs 1,500won per ride. Since we were not sure where to get on the tram, we've decided to walk to the park (it's quite difficult if you're not used to walking uphill).
When we reached the park, we were amazed by the sight! There's a viewing deck high above Seoul where you can see many main attractions of the city. The tall grass field of Haneul park was a sight too! It was in full autumn colors which was really cool! We ate some snacks first at the store inside the park before we started going around the grass field. Prices for the snacks ranges from 500 to 3,000 won depending on which snack you'll be getting. The price is good enough considering that a hot cup of fishcake is really nice for the really cold Autumn weather.
Then, we started going around the tall grass field. It was really awesome! The place is absolutely instragrammable!
After that, we've decided to take the electric tram going down to the bus station. There's a ticketing machine where you can get your tram tickets for 1,500 won. The tram ride was nice too because we passed by another very scenic route which was different than the one we walked on.
It was really worth the trip to Haneul Park! DEFINITELY A MUST-VISIT!
P.S. Use the CITY MAPPER app if you're going around Seoul. It's more accurate that...
Read moreHaneul Park is quite famous in Instagram for being an area with tall grass nearby the World Cup Park in Seoul, South Korea. The park itself is actually quite a walk a way from the bus stop and it sits on top of a hill. You do have an option to take a small shuttle to go up, but it looks like I took the long way up instead.
This park full of tall grass with brownish color becomes really pretty during the golden hour. That’s 5pm and above just before sunset in photographer speak. There are some areas that grows pink tall grass as well, looks like they have been planning that for a while, it’s a very pretty color to take selfies with.
There are a couple observatory areas around the park to take a look around and locate your surroundings, as well as a stairwell that goes directly down to the nearest living area. We did took this stairwell to experience a different way down, it’s nice and cool, unlike the way up.
The area is much smaller compared to the Olympic Park and they are mostly similar all around, golden tall grass and dirt pathways for taking pictures during fall.
This spot should go into your to go list if you’re a nature lover, though there are other parks for better...
Read moreI didn't realise that this park is atop a mountain. It's quite the climb to get up there if you take the stairs. Otherwise, you can catch the buggy bus up and down, but the line is usually very long. It's (the park) also a little harder to get to than I had anticipated. At the time of my visit there was only one bus coming and going every half hour, from the closest stop to the stadium train station. If you're set on going to the park but don't want to waste so much time getting there, then I recommend booking a taxi.
Otherwise, the park itself is beautiful. It offers lovely views of the city and Han River. It also has a lot of photogenic areas. Plenty of bathrooms, places to sit, or even have a picnic. There is even a convenience store! Overall, you can easily spend an hour or two enjoying the breeze and grasses as you wander around. It's definitely a more unique...
