2025년 6월, 작년에 비해 올해 꽃들이 일주일씩은 늦었는데, 6월3일 기준, 양귀비 활짝 피었습니다. 바로 옆 장미 광장에도 장미가 만발하였습니다. 2024년 9월 황코스모스가 가을의 정취를 물씬 느끼게 합니다. 2024년 5월, 동쪽은 양귀비, 서쪽은 유채꽃으로 가득차 있습니다. 언제 봐도 계절의 정취가 듬뿍2023년 9월, 멕시코가 원산지인 노랑 코스모스로 가득차 있어, 구경하는 사람들이 가득가득 합니다. 계절마다 꽃으로 가득차고, 원두막도 있어 계절의 정취를 느끼기에 참 좋은곳입니다. 봄에는 양귀비, 가을에는...

봄가을에 잠시 시민에게 개방됩니다. 하지만, 봄 가을 대부분의 주말은 공연과 행사로 인해 시민들의 자유로운 이용은 제한됩니다. 특히 매년 정기적으로 봄 가을 큰 뮤직 페스티벌이 열리는데, 보통 주말 이틀동안 진행되고, 무대 및 펜스 설치에만 약 5일 소요, 또 그 구조물 철거에 약 2~3일이 걸리는 거 같아요. 즉 봄 가을 날씨가 가장 좋은 약 10일씩은 민트페이퍼(Mint Paper)에서 주최하는 음악 페스티벌로 인해서 공원이 훼손될 뿐만 아니라 일반 공원 이용객에게 큰 불편을 발생시키고 있어요. 약 10년이 넘도록, 한 주최자의 음악 페스티벌에, 매년 2차례씩 한번에 10일정도씩, 매년 약 20일을 임대해 주고 있는데, 과연 이렇게 하는 것이 정당하고 공평한 것인지요? 그리고 2012년부터는 매년 5월에 서울재즈페스티벌이 잔디마당 등에서 열리는데, 이 또한 펜스를 설치하여 제한된 이용자만 이용할 수 있는 폐쇄적인 공연인데, 이 기간 동안 공원의 기능은 사실상 거의 마비가 되죠. 주차도 불가하고 화장실 이용도 어렵고 잔디마당은 접근 조차 불가하고. 공연은 실내 체육관 등 공연 시설에서 해야죠. 공원은 시민에게, 공연은 공연장에서.
