This place is a Great hike and is an exceptionally Beautiful area. Unfortunately and fortunately I went when it was super misty, which means I could not see most of the surrounding areas. However, it is still a remarkable place to visit when it is misty. It felt like some mystical magical place... king arthur and The Mist of Avalon vibes. There is an immense amount of things to do and things to see, so unless you are planning on camping here for the night (yes, you can camp here... I'd recommend make a booking to be safe) it is best to visit the Seoraksan area very early. Pack a lot of water as the area is extremely humid, pack a few snacks for your hike and remember to bring a camera. There are a few restaurants at the entrance, but given the amount of things to do and to see, it might be best to keep those for last. On the journey you will also find the big bronze Buddha and a brilliant souvenir shop... for the Pokemon fans, there is a few Pokemon gyms and stops on the way. Most people don't bother checking their phones there, so it might just be a gym you can keep...

Must do in Sokcho!

It took me around 2.5 hours round trip. The hike started off easy… till that last 1km hike… with many rocks and stairs. It can be quite challenging especially for people who are afraid of heights (me!!!) but upon reaching the peak and seeing the view made the climb so worth it!

I ate a kimbap while enjoying the view 😍 Would have stayed longer but it was freezing with the strong winds. Do bring along your coat/scarf/glove!

Climbing down was much faster than heading up!

For those wondering how to get here, you can catch bus 7 or 7-1 from the bus stop opposite Express Bus Terminal (I stayed nearby and caught the bus at the next bus stop) and the bus ride was only 20-25 minutes. Note that the bus intervals are...

One of the best mountains we climbed on so far. The climbing is not so easy, when I finally got to the top my legs were shaking from what felt like thousands of stairs. There are a lot of places to stop and rest on the way if you get tired so it's fine. As long as you consider yourself in good enough shape you can climb it with no problems. The view from the top is breathtaking so even if you feel that you can't climb anymore give it a push, it's worth it. Look out for the squirrels, they are cute and friendly but will try to take stuff from your bag if you don't watch it. Overall I rate this mountain five mountains...
