Great beach, wide, long, with sand finer and less pebblely than other beaches around. Definitely regularly cleaned in the mornings, apparently it can get a bit dirty sometimes. Be aware that all public facilities like toilets and showers are not operating in May. Bot sure if due to out of season or permanently. However there are restrooms available in cafes at the adjacent promenade. Lovely views of Gibraltar too.

La playa de Getares, lo más al sur de Algeciras, junto al Faro de Punta Carnero, es un lugar eminentemente familiar, que incluye todos los ingredientes para disfrute de padres e hijos, con todo tipo de lugares de copas y restauración, larga playa de arena, delimitada por costas rocosas donde abunda la pesca de caña y donde practicar esnorquel, submarinismo y todo tipo de actividades náuticas, clases incluidas y donde los monitores de VELAIR, Escuela de Vela, les darán las primeras lecciones de WindSurfing, Cate Surf, Padel Surf, etc... y pondrán a su disposición los equipos más modernos con los que practicarlos.

Nice views across to Gibraltar.Sand is soft and deep.In spite of messages,you do have to look out for the occasional dog poo in the sand (why the Spanish do not fine dog owners is beyond me).. It's a little sad and negated in places.Bins overflowing and people hanging out their washing at front of houses.. Overall,a decent place to hang out...
