El Castillo de La Mota forma parte de un proyecto residencial de gran tamaño con campo de golf, que finalmente no se desarrolló debido a complicaciones que surgieron durante la financiación. Claramente singular, el castillo se construyó en lo alto de una de las lomas del terreno, y fue el único que se completó de los cinco que había proyectados. Su exterior se construyó siguiendo los métodos tradicionales de la zona, con las piedras y tejas del lugar y sin haber montado grúa. A mitad de fachada se ubicó una Virgen antigua, que posteriormente fue robada. En el interior llama la atención la estructura de hormigón armado, incluso la previsión de hueco de ascensor. La función inicial de esta obra sería la de actuar como oficina de ventas de la urbanización y más adelante pasaría a ser un depósito de instalaciones para el complejo. Desde lo alto de todos los castillos también se realizarían espectáculos de luces, así como la retransmisión de los campeonatos de golf que hubiera en el campo de la urbanización. You can climb up stairs inside, although care is needed as there are some big drops without guard rails. There are great views of the surrounding area from the top - worth the short walk up...

Unusual tourist attraction on top a hill near the town of Alhaurine el Grande. Built on the site of an old water tower, this building has been built recently but has been left in finished. You can climb to the top but as it's unfinished beware of the open sided stairways. The views of the countryside...

I enjoyed visiting this place. I don't yet know the history of it, but it seems to be an abandoned project rather than an historic building. You can climb up stairs inside, although care is needed as there are some big drops without guard rails. There are great views of the surrounding area from the top - worth the short walk up from the road.

Nice views of the surrounding landscape but it's ultimately jest an abandoned building. Smells of urine, broken bottles and empty beer cans; zero cultural value or interested. Merely an incidental addition to a nice walk. Some pretty obscene graffiti nearby so definitely not a place to bring the kids.

Nice views of the surrounding landscape but it's ultimately jest an abandoned building. Smells of urine, broken bottles and empty beer cans; zero cultural value or interested. Merely an incidental addition to a nice walk. Some pretty obscene graffiti nearby so definitely not a place to bring the kids.
