Parc del Guinardó — Attraction in Barcelona

The park gets an automatic four star rating for having one of the best views in Barcelona. This is one of the most popular selfie spots in the city and the park has several very unique features that make the park really unique. These include the two featured towers near the park entrance and a beautiful staircase and balcony overlooking the city. There is a cavelike feature made of rock that everyone snaps a picture of and some trails behind the more visited areas.

The queues for the towers weren't really long but moved dreadfully slow when we visited so we ended up having to pass. I wanted there to be more to do on our visit but the picture alone was worth it to us.

The park is quite a ways from the center of the city but the taxi ride was cheap and the streets south of the park offer good restaurants, bars and cafes. The further from the park you get, the quieter and less touristy the restaurants seemed to be. The walk south is downhill so it's was an...

Este parque es un espacio donde conviven la rusticidad del bosque con la elegancia de un jardín de arbustos recortados, donde el agua tiene un gran protagonismo. El parque del Guinardó tiene tres partes bien diferenciadas: una urbana, que se convierte en la antesala del gran espacio que ocupa esta zona verde, otra histórica y, en la parte más alta, la frondosidad de la vegetación forestal. Sus terrazas ajardinadas y los pinares convierten este lugar en uno de los espacios verdes más refrescantes y plácidos de la ciudad. Como el parque es bastante empinado y tiene una altura considerable, muchos se acercan para hacer deporte y correr un rato. Y es que vale la pena: en la parte más alta hay miradores desde donde se puede disfrutar de las magníficas vistas de Barcelona. Barcelona goza de este parque gracias a las reservas de suelo que se establecieron a principios del siglo XX. Se trata de una finca encarada al mar que en 1910 pasó a ser propiedad municipal. Lo primero que se construyó fue la parte histórica, obra de Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier en colaboración con Nicolau M. Rubió i Tudurí. El parque del Guinardó fue el primer trabajo conjunto de los dos paisajistas, un campo de pruebas y de experimentación del que después saldrían, además de un modelo y tipología de jardín autóctono, el jardín Meridional, parques como los jardines de Laribal, los jardines de la Tamarita o el Turó Park. El nombre de Guinardó está vinculado a una antigua masía próxima al parque: el Mas Guinardó, actualmente Casal de Entidades...

Wonderful park to stroll around after or before you visited Park Güell. Like Park Güell it is on a hill so prepare fore some exercise! There are beautiful gardens that take you from Plaça del Nen de la Rutlla, all the way up to the "Bunkers" from where you enjoy amazing views over Barcelona. The route is indicated in the Park as the Ruta del Turó de la Rovira. Also great for a picnic. Outside the park, on the Carretera del Carmel, where there is a side entrance to the Park Güell, there is the famous Bar Restaurant Las Delicias....
