This is NOT one of the world's best Historic Centres. Not even Best In Spain.
It is not majestic, like Salamanca, nor charming, like Estepona.
And a lot of it is, unfortunately, defaced by graffiti. What is the Policía Local doing about it? What is the Alcalde doing about it? It is a disgrace.
However, there are things to see, and I can recommend the following sites/sights in the Old Town.
*The Plaza Mayor, especially the Ayuntamiento
Iglesia Santa Maria del Azogue
Iglesia San Juan del Mercado
Torre del Caracol, (part of the Parador)
Hospital de la Piedad, (not a hospital but a former religious lodging house for pilgrims)
La Casa de Solita
