So we're spending a few nights at this place called Mas Boronat, nice place (another story)... at the reception we noticed they sell champagne and vermouth and naturally as we are vermouth fans we ask about the brand Myrrha (one of our favorite) turns out the producers of this brand is Padró & Co. and they organize tours with guide at the place where they produce the Myrrha vermouth, trying to book a reservation to se the place but no one answered the number we had, se we left a message letting them know that we are interested to visit their factory, back at the Mas Boronat reception we asked if there is another way to contact the producers of this brand, the receptionist told us that he can get in touch with them and book a reservation for us the day after tomorrow. Next day we receive a call from the factory asking us about the call we placed the day before and we scheduled a tour for next day, we're going to the place and there our guide, Sinisa Curavic tells us they are waiting for another couple and we will start the tour, as the couple was late they tried to call them and see what's going on, suddenly my girlfriend phone started to ring and at that moment we realized that they made two reservations for us. We had a laugh and continued our private tour :)) the family history and everything Sinisa told us about the brand and how vermouth is produced was amazing, I never knew so many details about how vermouth is made, we had a blast, we tried eight types of vermouth and bought over ten bottles at the end of the tour, Thank you Sinisa for a wonderful tour, we will come again when we're...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience with Sinisa! So knowledgeable, so kind and friendly. The tour and tasting is made up of a lovely walk through the facility, while learning about vermouth making and, of course, the Padró & Co's way of doing it :) At the end of the tour, which takes you through the whole process (more complicated than I thought!!), You go to the tasting room to try 8 vermouths (!), accompanied by crisps, olives and interesting commentary and explanations by your guide. The vermouths are diverse, each one offers different flavours and takes you somewhere else. We also got recommendations for pairings and cocktails along the way ;) I highly...
Read moreSplendid couple of hours today. If it wasn’t for lunch reservation my boyfriend and I would have been sitting there for hours on end. Tucked away in a sleepy town of Brafim sits one of the best producers of vermouth in the country. A comprehensive two-hour (and some) excursion through the history and the production method of vermouth followed by a tasting of 8 products in a leafy courtyard. Special thanks to the knowledgeable and enthusiastic commercial coordinator of Casa Padro, Sinisa Curovic. Well worth the drive from Sitges and the day has gone by rather quickly! ...
