Playa de las Arenas — Attraction in Buenavista del Norte

Very beautiful and secluded beach but dangerous! Be aware of the one big wave. I was walking on the beach with my toddler when we were surprised by a tsunami-like wave. I ran with my toddler in my arms but were still run over by the wave and I wasn't sure I could hold him... My husband lost his phone and wallet to the wave, as did some other people, but luckily nothing really bad happened....

5 stars for beautiful coast, mountains, and fun rock pools. All the posts from 3 years ago show black sand. I went for the black sand but only found rocks. There were rock pools with fish, so I had to assume the tide was out, so there should have been sand... but there wasn't a sand beach, just large rocks. It's a fantastic beautiful place but don't go...
