Playa Magdalena — Attraction in Cabanas

Great beach with easy car park very close to the beach. Toilets are nearby and the cleaning is acceptable. You don’t see many groups of youngsters here blasting music with there Bluetooth speakers, instead it’s a very relaxed and warm environment with lots of old couples and families with kids. The only thing I would criticise is not something that can really be helped. The beach is strewn with pine needles because the beach is right next to a little forest. Makes it quite uncomfortable to walk barefoot but with sandals or crocs they’re not a problem. The water is tepid, so not cold but...

Cabañas was a lovely place to visit! We stayed for 4 nights in a hotel just next to the beach. Around town there was many great restaurants and shops where you could buy food and some short walks from town to town.

The beach and water- Was not cleaned at all over the days we stayed and it was very dirty with toliet paper, bottles and smelled really bad like dead fish. We didn't want to go into the water as it was that bad and we weren't the only ones...

La playa de la Magdalena , conocida normalmente por la playa de cabañas, en Pontedeume, es una para nosotros de las mejores playas de la zona, que frecuentamos durante 40 años, y que tenia o tiene 3 puntos importantes. Es una playa tranquila, antiguamente se aparcaba a pie de playa y la gente sacaba los bártulos y comia en el precioso pinar que rodea la playa. Con el tiempo esa forma de aparcar, fue prohibida al hacer y anchear las aceras. Ahora hay que aparcar antes del pinar, e ir andando unos metros para coger un sitio. Algo que se echa de menos,eran las parrillas al aire libre que con el tema de los incendios prohibieron. Pero el tema de los incendios en Galicia, no es cosa ni de parrillas ni algo parecido. Podría haber un incidente aislado por este hecho. Pero no desde luego, la mano negra o manos que incendían y asolan Galicia. No en vano hace 40 años los incendios eran inapreciables. Para pasar a tener Galicia un presupuesto de varios millones de euros para este tema. ?A Quien beneficia el fuego?.. pero vale la pena...
