Nice scramble/walk up to this isolated peak with fabulous views. The castle isn't much, only a wall, but the views definitely make it worthwhile. It's not just a walk, you have to use your hands on occasions but it's not too difficult for the average person

It's far from being a castle being only w a wall with some foundations indicating it was a square at one point. It is well worth the climb for the views. The step scramble parts have a rope to hold on to.

LocalGuide Castellets del Mascarat o Castellets de Calp ( 252 m ) Solo se conserva una pared vertical, al borde del cortado, decorado con un gran pulpo y firmada por el Tonto del Lápiz,visible desde la carretera y los restos de la base de la muralla y aljibes excavados en la roca. En realidad son los restos de una torre vigía para vigilar la Costa y prevenir y rechazar los ataques de los corsarios y piratas berberiscos, siglo XVI. Las cinco estrellas son por el esfuerzo de subir con el apoyo de unas cuerdas y por la espectacularidad de sus vistas.

Absolutely stunning views of the whole area, from Benidorm, all the way to Calpe. Definitely recommend a visit. The path up is clearly maintained, and despite needing to use the rope, anyone should be able to manage...
