Arenal de Sa Ràpita — Attraction in Campos

Doubting which beach to go to for your June visit to Mallorca? Look no further, pack your bags and head for Arenal de Sa Ràpita.

We visited on a Friday and the beach is nice and calm, no algae on the sand, and beautiful crystal clear waters.

There is a small kiosk for food and drinks, toilets and parking in the nearby town. Just a five minute walk away there is free street parking in the residential area.

I recommend walking past the sunbeds to find a more quiet area...

Llegué temprano, cuando las primeras luces del día acariciaban la arena clara. Caminé desde el puerto hacia la playa y sentí cómo se abría ese arenal: amplio, con arena suave, y el mar extendiéndose frente a mí. Extendí mi toalla, respiré profundo y me lancé al agua. La entrada era gentil: poca pendiente, agua que avanzaba lentamente. Nadé, floté, vi ese tono turquesa transparente que llamaba a quedarse horas.

Me tomó el sol, leí un poco, alterné sombra y sol. Al mediodía, pedí algo ligero en el chiringuito cercano: una ensalada fresca, pescado del día a la plancha con verduras, y de postre fruta con helado. Surf de viento o paddle surf también vi a algunos haciendo en las horas con viento suave.

La playa tiene servicios: sombrillas y hamacas, duchas, vigilancia veraniega… incluso accesos pensados para personas con movilidad reducida, lo que me gustó porque la hace inclusiva. En ciertos tramos se ven dunas y vegetación mediterránea detrás de la arena, que dan refugio visual y cierto encanto natural.

Al atardecer, la luz bajaba suave, el mar reflejaba matices dorados. Gente caminaba por la orilla, algunos fotógrafos tomaban imágenes del cielo y del mar. Me quedé hasta que la arena empezó a enfriarse y las sombras...

We originally didn’t know about this beach — we thought Sa Ràpita was just a marina. But the beach is amazing! Perfect size, and the white, soft sand reminded us of Phi Phi Island in Thailand.

It’s a natural beach, which means it’s not cleaned regularly — so you’ll find quite a bit of seaweed, just like on the entire Es Trenc stretch.
