It is, without a doubt, the most important monument in the town, declared a Historic Site. King Ferdinand II of León promoted its construction at the end of the 12th century, but the work continued for six centuries, meaning it underwent numerous changes and influences. Of the three existing doors, the Pórtico do Perdão is the most important and one of the most spectacular in Spain. From the 13th century, the two twin arches and the parteluz stand out, as well as the iconography with representations alluding to Jesus, the apostles and the Virgin. The Las Cadenas gate, with Romanesque imagery, and the Enlosado or Amayuelas gate complete the entrances. Inside, it is divided into three naves and a transept and is topped by a large apse.
