La Sella Golf — Attraction in Dénia

We have played here for the past five years as a relatively good group of golfers. Our first experience was a beautifully maintained course, and plenty of watering meant the greens always responded well, and the fairways were beautiful too. Then they began a three-year plan of work which made things less than optimal, but we endured the course over the past three years in the hope that it would be worth it and things would return to how they were. Sadly after our visit in June, the course disappointed us again. The greens were not consistent and not well maintained at all. We were gutted to find the work has reaped no benefits, in our opinion but has been hard to put up with the disruption. We will now be taking our annual 3 days of golf somewhere else. A real shame since it is a good layout, and we loved it before the work began.

I played La Sella back in 2021 while they were adding a new 9 holes and understandably the course wasn't at its best because of the continuing works. I played again on 14th June and was apprehensive about the condition of the course due to some negative reviews over the past month, however I found the course was in very good condition. The greens ran consistently through both 9's. The fairways and tee boxes were well maintained. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the course design itself is not the most interesting. This used to be a very nice golf course; not any more. During the play we were annoyed constantly by the noise of the golf carts. These now have an alarm when you leave the allowed zone. In itself, this is ok but often it is not clear why the alarm sounds. This results in a (bad) symphony of alarms all around the course. At any time you hear one or more alarms. This is not what you expect from a golf course, certainly not from the most expensive course at the costa blanca. I will not go back (even if it used to be my favourite...
