Beautiful historical landmark. The houses themselves added to the natural landscape offer a good reason to visit this place. It's interesting to see how this island developed and lived during the period that it has been populated, how people seemed to have rediscovered tools and utilities necessary for living. Only remark would be the guiding. We paid a tourist price and yet there's not guiding in english, not even a slightly attention to trying to make it slower in spanish or at least trying to explain a bit in english, the basics. So, it seemed we could have as easily do the tour on our own with a printed paper in english. We were a group of 5 tourists, there should be some english offer. Otherwise, the place is worth the time if it's something you're...

The visit to Ecomuseo Guinea and Lagartaria on El Hierro was a fascinating experience. The mix of the old village with traditional houses, the special volcanic caves, and the center for giant lizards makes an authentic trip in time.

What impressed me most was how the local guides could connect the history of the first people with nature protection and modern rescue programs. To see the endangered giant lizard, the symbol of the island, was really special.

I recommend it to everyone who wants to understand the true soul of El Hierro.

We also want to thank the lady at the ticket office and the guide who walked with us for their smiling and kind...
