A beautiful walk, well signposted, but considered of medium difficulty because it is not smooth underfoot, and involves some uphill/downhill parts.
It is not a Sunday afternoon walk for the whole family.
It's just under a km in length, and takes you through the area with most of the "Pinsapo" trees. These are very recognisable - once you've seen one, you can spot another very easily. They are almost like a perfect Christmas tree, an almost perfect pyramid shape, with beautifully formed branches and leaves - probably not the right word for those pine needles gathered together, but you know what I mean!
This is a rare tree, found here and in other nearby mountain areas in the province of Malaga. Unique to just a few square kilometres right here!
Warning. Firstly, it is generally much colder up there than down on the coast. In winter especially - we have had a balmy 18 degrees in December in Estepona town and then driven up here to find it below freezing, with ice on the ground. The other weather warning is for mist and low cloud - you could wander off the trail and get lost. And frozen.
So choose your day and clothing carefully.
