Very safe to swim due to the volcanic rocks protecting the coast from waves even on very windy days. Don't forget water shoes if you want to explore the pools and rocks. Be careful not to slip and fall as some rocks and clay type od sediments are very slippery. The sandy beach is easily accessible by car. You can also use the bus nr 9 from Arrecife that stops in Órzola. You have to walk a bit, either on the main road (approx. 15 min) or by a gravel hiking path close to the sea (approx. 25 min). I would suggest to stay at least 3 hours to see how the tide affects the natural pools. Due to it's popularity, accessibility and the lack of waves that would shuffle the sand a bit, one can find quite a bit of trash accumulating on the beach. There are several trash cans very close to the beach in the parking lot, but I guess some people prefer to leave relics of the fun times they had. Please don't be like this and take your trash with you once you leave this amazing natural...
Read moreThis place is gorgeous, very windy but you can still enjoy the water lagoons. The 4 stars goes because of the nasty people that come here. There was even toilet paper covered in poo held down by a rock. So many places to go, and people use these shelters? Vile. Can't say we had a good start of the day. People, I know when nature calls you can't help it, but please don't use the very place people lay down and...
