Possibly the best scenic spot in Lanzarote with spectacular views, especially when you walk a little further from the "standard" viewing area.
The access road is a little rough with some deep potholes, so you need to drive carefully. We had a Citroen C3 Aircross rental which managed fine and we saw a few Fiat 500's arrive later so definitely accessible in standard cars if you drive carefully.
The car park area has enough space for a dozen or more cars and the on-line description mentions picnic seating areas and a kids play park BUT you should be aware that the play park is derelict and unsuitable to play in and the picnic areas are also very run down. Looks like these areas have been forgotten about in terms of maintenance, which is a real shame considering how good a scenic spot this is.
From the parking area, it's only a few minutes walk down to a walled viewing area offering those spectacular views I mentioned.
Looking to the right from there, you'll see a path that leads to additional (unkempt) picnic benches and progresses towards a distant cliff area. The path meanders a bit so I cut across it and headed for the fenced area you'll see ahead of you. Be aware that this leads to the cliff edges so proceed with caution. The recommended route would be sticking to the path.
As you walk further up this way the views open up to an even wider panoramic which is absolutely stunning.
Overall a DEFINITE scenic spot to visit, ideally when there are no clouds and...
Read moreTo be honest, my favourite place from the whole Lanzarote! Denitely must-see! Those views are breath taking and sunset is beatiful as well.
The Mirador de El Risco de Famara is located in the Parque El Bosquecillo on Lanzarote, offering stunning panoramic views of the island’s northern coast, including Famara Beach and the Chinijo Archipelago.
How to get there: • By car: From the village of Haría, take the LZ-10 road towards Teguise. The route is narrow and winding, passing through the Malpaso Valley. At the top of the ascent, you’ll find a wooden sign directing you to El Bosquecillo. There is parking available once you arrive. • On foot: You can hike approximately 6 km from Haría, ascending towards El Bosquecillo while enjoying spectacular views along the way.
Features of Parque El Bosquecillo: • Facilities: The park has wooden tables, benches, stone barbecues, and playground areas, making it a great spot for a family picnic. • Natural surroundings: The park is surrounded by native vegetation, providing a peaceful environment to enjoy the natural beauty of Lanzarote.
Tips: • Weather: The area can be quite windy, especially on days with strong winds. • Safety: Stay away from the cliffs and follow local guidelines to ensure a safe visit.
Visiting Mirador de El Risco de Famara and Parque El Bosquecillo offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, breathtaking views, and a relaxing atmosphere, making it a must-see stop on your...
Read moreI could greet the sun here, greet the day and wait for the next sunset. Every minute brings a different shade of light in the magic hour. A wonderful view of the beach, village, mountains, volcanoes, especially if you have walked along the beach and visited the village. Water, mountains, volcanoes, sunset, height, all this makes you stand and look and look and finally look up at the sky thinking is this paradise already? Ok so you can get here by car from the main road but the road is let's say poor but passable. There is a parking space at the end so it depends on you. We parked on the main road and from there a faster walk of maybe 11 minutes. I am adding a photo from the plane taken at a different time so you can see this part of the island and the viewpoint. Look well and you will find!...
