Last year together with friends, we decided to visit this place. It was quite late, we arrived about half an hour before the planned closing, however, a nice man who greeted us at the entrance (museum owner) said that we do not have to rush to explore and we can take our time. It was my first visit to this kind of museum, so I didn't know what to expect. Some of the dolls were very old which gave them a special character and the music created a fairy-tale atmosphere. At the museum I saw the works of artists from around the world, some puppets looked scary, some were beautiful and some of them made me laugh. In addition to the sightseeing itself, we received lessons on how the dolls themselves are made, information on their origin and also we could touch and test the materials from which they were made. I highly recommend visiting this museum for everyone, even for those who are not interested in this type of art. This is not just sightseeing but thanks to the owner we had the opportunity to learn more about how dolls are made and we got answers to all questions that appeared during the visit. At the end we got a sweet treat from the owner in the form of figs picked straight...
Read moreVisited Artlandya with my wife and 3 kids. What a great experience we had and the place is hosted by lovely and friendly couple. We were introduced to the art of doll making and my daughter was highly interested and had tons of questions which George answered. My twins boys who could care less for anything that has to do with art did get bored after visiting just half way through the 1st building that housed the dolls but George the owner had let them in free of charge anyway😊and they did have a great time running and exploring around the huge beautiful well kept garden. The place is really beautiful and a most visit if you are looking for an alternative to the beaches. We were staying on the southern part of the Island and the drive was about roughly an hour from our rented flat which offered a beautiful scenery during the drive. At the end of our visit the owners on learning we were doing some of our own cooking on our vacation allowed us pluck some fruits and herbs from their vast garden and we made the best lemonade I have ever tasted from...
