One of the nicest beaches I’ve ever been to! Playa de la Franca is a beautiful sandy beach on the Calabrian Sea (northern Spain, Asturias), tucked between dramatic cliffs and green hills. It’s clean, well-kept, and has a laid-back local vibe. Even though I’m usually not a big fan of swimming in the sea, here I really enjoyed it – calm, clear water and a gentle slope make it great for swimming.

At low tide, you can even walk through natural rock tunnels to a hidden beach called Playa del Oso – a fun little adventure. Around the beach you’ll find a few restaurants; we had amazing fresh fish at Emilio’s. Definitely worth booking ahead in high season – it fills up fast around lunchtime.

There’s a shower to rinse off and plenty of parking nearby (around €3 a bit further, or €5 right at the beach). All in all, a real gem – scenic, family-friendly, and full...

We were very surprised to find such a gem. A beautiful spot with everything you can wish for (if you are me ☺️). There's a river that flows into the sea. There are trees, there are rocks and rock pillars but also a sand beach. If you don't want to sit in the sand you can have a drink at a terrace. There's only one thing that was not amazing: parking space. There aren't to many parking spots, so baer...

Wonderful- a beautiful place, the water is shallow, very family-friendly. Can get busy but also kind of calm and cozy at the sane time.
