Madrid Bullfighting Tickets — Attraction in Madrid

Wanted to experience the culture/ history. Tickets easy to secure online. Now clearly understand WHY bullfighting is outlawed in Barcelona. It was authentic. Brass band without any sound system. To the unprepared eye, this event is shocking. Had to leave after the first bull (20 minutes). The bull was tortured while spectators look on, sipping drinks. People dressed up. After bleeding profusely from the hooks in its back and the sword stabbing, it became more weak, hemorrhaging profusely from the mouth on its knees. The dead bull was drug around the ring by the horns, tied to a horse. Several men covered up the blood in the dirt for the next event. Could not get out of there fast enough. The spectators around us were encouraging us to stay because it wasn’t the real show, it was the pre-show. My mind still can’t process this...

I was looking for bullfighting tickets in Madrid during one of their festivals so I knew they would be in high demand. I contacted WhattodoinMadrid to arrange for tickets to the event ahead of time in order to get the best seats. Although they did charge 10 euros above the additional base ticket price per ticket (45 euros for 35 euro tickets) it was worth it to not be disappointed on the night of the event and have them delivered to our hotel. Our seats were amazing. We had built in padded seats so no need to buy cushions (there were only a few sections that had this luxury) and the view was amazing! Great bullfight, great tickets.

If you are thinking of going to this then you should question what sort of a person you are, are you kind? Do you care about others? Please know that Bulls are beautiful gentle creatures and this is incredibly stressful and painful for them. They dress it up as an art but its not, its torture. Forget all the theatre around it, the bull is FRIGHTENED and DEFENDING its life. It doesn't want to hurt the matador, it doesn't want to hurt you, it wants to be in its own environment with its own kind.
