Wasted 3 hours of our precious holiday "showing" us this hotel. 20 mins in taxis and hour and half waiting for bar to open in amadores, to do a completely unnecessary survey which could easily have been done in quarter of the time at the resort. Guides fine and good laugh at first but after 2 hours my partner and I were fed up couldn't get away as taxi required to leave the resort. Told under absolute no obligation to purchase holiday at end of tour. However, there was a trivial enticement to potential guests of return ferry from Anfi del mar or nearby ports and sunbeds for 2 with umbrella at anfi beach. Please trust me when I say, I or my partner do not need to have our ferry or sunbeds paid for. We agreed to.the guide on the basis that it would be a 90'minute (possible interesting opportunity to purchase our next holiday) excursion. We partly declined booking a holiday there because of pure anger at wasting our time on a "pitch" that could have taken quarter of the time. Partly because the only wow factor was in the apartment itself. Which I cannot deny was wow. Other than that, mainly for golf enthusiasts and people who have no interest in exploring gran canarian culture. You need a shuttle bus just to get out of the resort. Which in fairness, they offer for free. How and ever, most definitely not our thing, if it's for you, fine. FYI, we did get sunbeds on anfi beach and we got a taxi to and from. We paid for all ourselves. Just in case it was presumed we were only looking for "freebies" as was very very subtlety implied...
Read moreRead about this golf course on google! Was staying in the Gloria Palace Amadores which is 5 minutes away by taxi. Called in on Wednesday and booked a round at the twilight rate for 3 pm the next day. Turned up next day and paid 124 euros. For that you can play the full 18 holes more if you like, a set of top of the range Taylormade clubs aprox value 1,500 euros and hire of a buggy! The course was in terrific condition and the view from the fourth tee in particular was stunning! It’s an Arizona type course with dry shrub areas and gulleys so unless your a single figure player bring at least 10 balls! The fourth, the index 1 hole and the 14 th were the standout holes for me! My wife was with me and we had booked the restaurant at what is a timeshare hotel. No problem dining at 6 pm even though I’d booked for 7/30 pm. The restaurant like the course was not busy and we had a lovely chateaubriand steak served and sliced at the table by Mohamed! Nice touch was the little gas heater to either keep your remaining steak warm or cook it to suit. A fantastic day, the highlight of my holiday. Only two things, there was no one at the buggy, club stand so had to wait but went back to the pro shop and a radio call sorted that. The other is the driving range and par three course can’t be reached by buggy, their rules, if you have a hire car no problem. Went back the next day and really enjoyed both. My first but not my last visit to Anfi Touro...
Read moreWe were on our way to Puerto de Mogan when we saw the nice golf course. I rang later that day at about 5 pm to book a tee time for my husband to play the 9-hole course at 7:55 am the next morning. We woke up excited and got to the course only to find out by one of the maintanance team that the 9-hole course opens at 9 am. He was kind enough to help us and phoned main reception at the Championship course, the woman who picked up the phone lacked customer service and offered no assistance whatsoever instead she suggested to call a taxi so we could get to her and maybe she could help. I was extremely disappointed at the way my husband and I were treated as it wasn’t our mistake. The woman who booked the tee time was completely wrong about times, etc. No manager was available to speak to and nothing was offered for the big inconvenience. Once we got to reception, obviously after driving past the Championship golf course thats where I wanted to treat my husband. Paid 110 euros and yes the course is nice and worth the views but the lack of attention and customer service gave us a really bad image and will definitely NOT be coming back. My husband is one of the deputy head greenkeepers at Wentworth Club in Water Virginia, Surrey in the UK and while he hosts the BMW Championship every year, it was quite embarrasing to even suggest to play at this course. No wonder it is empty most of the time, it lacks decent employees at...
