Beautiful white sandy beach. Not many facilities along the main strip, but to either end you can find places with toilets or toilets available.
You do get a nice breeze but oddly from behind on occasions from the mountains rather than off the sea.
Can't really fault it for being picturesque, loungers aren't cheap if you want one every day, like €10 a pair for the day and extra €5 for brolly.
That's not the beach's fault though : )
If you walk North, you will after maybe a mile, get to the hidden gem of the area, the Caretta Beach Bar, while it is still all Jandia beach really, as you head North you get first to Esquinzo Beach (Stay an Magic Life there it is excellent) and then Butihondo beach where the beach bar is - just amazing, ask about the milk shakes or search them on FaceBook. It shows they are closed as does Google, but IG says otherwise..... Food and drink is AWESOME.
Enjoy your day/week/fortnight there,...
Read moreWe arrived at 10 am in the morning on the beach. It was our first time. There was only a sign which was showing you where is right place to swim and which is for the surfers. Our stuff got wet and we got terrified how we could return back by carrying our heavy bags. The water reached the height of our thighs. We were carrying our bags on the head and trying to avoid the surfers while we were swimming. We reached a safe place after walking for around 1hour under the hot sun. The beach is beautiful but there are no signs at all which warn you that THIS WILL HAPPEN. Be careful if you are...
Read moreBeautiful and clean sandy beach to walk along and sunbath if that's your thing. It can be very windy, so you either need your own wind break or you can hire loungers in a couple of locations. Two sunbeds and a parasol cost €15 (Jan 2024). A cheaper version is finding one of the stone shelters that people have built. No cost involved. Be aware that your neighbours might be naked. On that note, be aware of naked people strolling along the beach. It was very common during our two week stay. There are a couple of bars/restaurants along the beach. A lifeguard regularly patrols the beach during certain hours. Changing, showering facilities, and bins to dispose of your rubbish are located on the beach close to the Furteventura...
