Celler Mas Doix — Attraction in Poboleda

I can’t recommend Mas Doix enough – what an amazing experience! 🍷 Nestled in the beautiful hills of Priorat, this winery offers stunning views over the llicorella slate vineyards. You’ll immediately fall in love with the scenery – and that’s even before the tasting begins!

We had a fantastic wine tasting here. Our host, Jori, was super friendly, professional, and insanely knowledgeable. He welcomed us like old friends (speaks great English) and guided us through each wine with passion and fun stories. You could feel how much he loves what he does. He took time to answer all our questions (and we had tons!), explaining everything from the grape varieties to the region’s history, all in a very engaging way.

And the wines… honestly, they are top-notch! 🙌 We tried a range of reds (and even a rare white wine). All were excellent – rich, expressive, and true to Priorat’s character – but one stood out above the rest: the “1902” old-vine Carignan. This wine blew us away. 🏅 It’s made from 100+ year-old vines and was absolutely the highlight of the tasting for us. So intense and elegant at the same time – a real once-in-a-lifetime wine. We also loved their “Doix” and “1903” wines (super limited Garnacha), but 1902 stole the show.

What also made the visit special was the personal touch. Jori’s hospitality was five-star – he even gave us a tour of the new cellar and shared some insider stories. We never felt rushed; in fact, we ended up spending almost 3 hours there because we were having such a great time.

If you’re in Priorat, do yourself a favor and visit Mas Doix. 🤩 It’s a beautiful place with phenomenal wines. The combination of the breathtaking location, the quality of the wines, and Jori’s outstanding hosting made this the best winery visit we’ve had in Spain. I’d give it 6 stars if I could –...

I booked a visit at this vineyard on their website on may 31st. I called this morning to confirm and the woman on the phone said yes your visit at 4:30 is confirmed. Once we arrived at the winery a rude man said "I don't have any Dmitriy in my system, you can't have a tour". I said I definitely booked it and he said "prove it, show me your browser history". So I showed him my browser history in my phone and he said "it doesn't matter, we only work through the website" even though I booked it on their website! He refused to give us a tour or tasting and said "I have some American clients" like we are less important despite I'm an American myself. We drove 1 hour to get to this vineyard along a windy road that made us very nauseous, and we will have to drive an hour back. He offered us to come back in an hour and a half , and I said where can we wait and he said "drive down to the village and find a cafe". I have never had such rude treatment at any...

This wine cellar was simply spectacular. It is a modern build with an exquisite taste when it comes to exterior and interior design. The winery had the best equipment which was amazing to see. Lluis (the guide) explained the history of Priorat in a very passionate way, which made us feel the passion that mas doix has for its wine.
