I’d like to start saying that I am aware that my review represents a 100% my food taste and so it’s totally personal. Me and my friends are all agree saying that the ambience, the chef, the staff and the treat were a 10. You can see that behind there’s a fine dining experience. The professionalism, the treat, the table setting, the petit four at the end and other details were really appreciated. We’d also liked that there were few tables and a direct contact with the chef. I couldn’t give a 5 stars due to personal opinion around some choices in the cooking style. In my personal opinion too much milk cream in all plates. Yes, it makes food tasty and connects flavors in a velvet way, but if it is the thread linking all the menu, for me it’s a bit too much. Also, as an Italian, I would never accept a mushrooms “risotto” made with milk cream to get the “mantecato” effect and overall served as base of a tuna steak. I gave it a try, to the “milky mushrooms risotto” and the “tuna-risotto” combo: it was a big no. It made me a bit sad because, again, the ambient, the staff… all the premises were so good but I can’t say that the food was at the same level. Holandés afincat al Priorat, enamorat de la cuina, emprenedor, transmet la seva passió en cada plat i en cadascuna de les explicacions que et dona a sala.
Fa la sensació que el Pieter et convida a dinar a la cuina de casa seva, t’obre el seu rebost i t’explica com s’ha divertit cuinant per tu.
Brots és un local molt petit, al cor del encantador poblet de Poboleda, al bell mig del Priorat, voltat, com no, de cellers i vinyes.
Merescudíssima inclussió a la llista Michelin, per qualitat, materia primera, esència de Priorat, innovació gastronòmica, experiència pels sentits.
I tot a un preu extraordinàriament baix en relacció a l’altíssima qualitat ofertada.
El Brots ofereix dos menús tancats i una carta, no és una llista molt extensa de plats en cap dels tres cassos, però hi ha més que suficient varietat.
Els dos menús fan patxoca però nosaltres vam decidir-nos per la carta i vam incloure (amable fkexibilitat de la casa) un dels plats d’un dels menus (el vitello tonnato) que va ser l’estrella de la nit, nomès aquesta obra d’art mereix la visita al Pieter.
Llegiu els menús al web, feu-vos una idea però quan arribeu al Brots deixeu-vos aconsellar.
Com no podria ser d’altre forma a un restaurant del Priorat, la carta de vins és extensa i excelsa, però hi ha vins de la terra formidables a un preu més que raonable.
Poboleda es un poblet petit, bonic, no hi ha gaire cosa a veure a banda del Brots. Haureu d’aparcar a la carretera o al pàrquing gratuit l’entrada del poble. El restaurant és al centre del poblet a tocar de l’esglèsia, no es pot aparcar allà.
El local és molt petit i la veu ha corregut entre la clientela internacional de nivell gastronòmic (nosaltres erem els únics locals). Recomano reservar : info@brotsrestaurant.com

While I wished we could have begun our meal a bit earlier, perhaps around 8 PM, it seems to coincide with the local tradition of dining post-sunset, wrapping up well past 10 PM.
