Very nice place to visit for a one day excursion with family. It is the highest waterfall in Catalunya (100 meters). You can enjoy the views of the canyon from the top of the waterfall, or even take a dip in the fresh water, or walk a bit further up beyond the top of the fall and see the waterfall in its full glory from a nice vantage point (mirador). On the way to the fall and back you will pass through a beautiful and picturesque town called Rupit, where you can stop and have lunch/coffee. The access to the fall is super easy and there is a parking to leave the car. The fall is about 10 minutes walk from the parking, following the dirt path. Read moreThis is Catalunya's highest waterfall of some 95 mts and is situated in between the Collsacabra and Guillerias mountain ranges. It is a few kms south of the chocolate-box village of Rupit. There is a trail from the village to the mirador, but if you want to see the waterfall from the base, you'll have to find one of the trails down the cliff face of the "Cingles de Rupit". If you're into hiking, a good day out is from Sant Marti Sacalm to the castle ruins at Fornils and along forest trails to the base of the waterfall. Climb up the Cliff face at the base of the waterfall (not for those with vertigo) and along the cingles de Rupit to El far and climb down the cliff face again back too the car, either at El Galeró or at El Far. Round trip.... 30km ish....

You are mostly walking on normal paved roads and towards the end, it's a little more off-track. The scenery is beautiful but due to the dry weather there was no water which was very disappointing. I would still recommend it all the same. After we got back, we crossed a lovely little hanging bridge that brings you over to Rupit where there are numerous little restaurants. We didn't eat anything... just had a quick...
