This was my second visit to the quad bikes at Rufeten.
I booked on line and took the confirmation with me - the booking in process was effortless albeit we did need to scramble for driving licences which I wasn't aware of previously - (some of the journey involves riding on roads hence you need licences - not sure how it works wth children in tow)
The guys who supervise the 1 hour adventure are great - they know what they are doing and are very aware of anyone who is a little nervous or who might need some extra attention - they have put me behind the group leader on both occasions so that I can follow directly in his tracks - my confidence was well up by the time I finished the session. One of my friends has her own quad but she was struggling with balance on this occasion and the guy at the back helped her and made sure she was safe.
The first time we did this activity we seemed to spend a lot more time off road negotiating various uneven ground and small hills etc and we took the route around Lake Perera which was really pretty. This time we didnt go around the lake and we spent a lot of time on tarmac roads which really wasn't what we had signed up for and wasn't the experience that we had told our friends that they would have.
I'm not sure if the route was based on an assessment of our group but I know that despite initial nervousness, my confidence builds over time and I was more than able to complete the lake route last time - - I didn't like the Tarmac roads at all -- my anxiety levels increase when i don't have much to think about whereas when I am thinking / negotiating off road obstacles I am much more relaxed --- plus I can drive along those roads without having to pay for the privelege!
Nevertheless - I would definatley recommend the quads as something different for all age groups - ( our ages ranged from...
Read moreI took my adult son & his best friend to Lo Rufete for a day out in October. They are both on the Autistic spectrum and they had a brilliant time & loved every minute of it. The staff were all very friendly, helpful & patient. We liked that we were able to choose the order that we did our activities in & decided to start off with the mini golf, which was a good laugh. We then had a short break and got a drink from the café and sat out and enjoyed the great views. Next up was two rides on the zip wire, followed by target shooting with 100 paintball pellets. Neither of them had really shot anything before, but they both managed to hit plenty of the targets & really enjoyed it. We then had another break & had a toasted sandwich each & shared a bowl of chips. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced and we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive at the table. Saving the best til last, it was time for a go on the quad bikes, which they both found quite easy to get to grips with after the staff member showed them how to operate them & they were soon flying around the circuit and were absolutely buzzing afterwards! All in all, we had a fantastic day out & they are both keen to go back there the next time they come out to...
Read moreHello team. I am leaving feedback on today's visit for my son's birthday party.
I have asked your colleague, if we can bring fresh apples and carrots to feed horses and he told me yes, we can. Please look up in the WhatsApp messages. So I did make an effort to bring quite a few apples and carrots but we were told not to feed horses. Even though we agreed before. It was disappointing as children anticipated feeding horses, just like they did two weeks ago on our previous visit. We could have feed them under your staff supervision. But we were refused.
Also, quads were too slow (literally walking speed)! No joy. Even with all of the precautions children could enjoy it and have an adventure rather than boredom. It was especially disappointing after the previous visits went well where children enjoyed quads rides in group of 5 kids! While we were told that "because of the big group (4 children) we can't let them ride faster". Faster than walking speed?
We have also had the paintball target shooting. It is advertised as 100 balls of paint for each kid. But we had 5 raffles shared by 7 kids, and birthday boy didn't even have his 100 balls to shoot as was sharing his raffle with other kids!
So literally every adventure had failed to be joy, fun and adventure.
We both feeling sad, as instead of joy and fun it turned into prohibitions and boredom.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND celebrate birthdays in Lo Rufete!
Hola, equipo.
