This is an amazing beach. It is very beautiful, it has dark soft sand on the land and in the water. It has large long waves. And the water is low. So people like to stand in the water and enjoy the strong waves that are coming to them.
The only drawback, when we came at 11am the parking for 2 euro was almost empty, and all the good free places were occupied but when we were leaving at 2pm it was a disaster. Many cars were parked on the side of this tiny road, and cars were going from 2 different directions and it was barely possible to pass by car, I needed to go when it was 10cm to the left car and to the road fence for 200m, I even scratched the car, that’s how it was narrow. Also the cars barely moved and it was many situations when people didn’t know to pass… I even thought that we are completely stuck here. Eventually it ended and we saw the police cars coming while escaping that hell, I think they gave fine to 50+...
Read moreFABULOUS! This beach and those around are my favourite ones in Tenerife. They are all the more beautiful that they are difficult to access and potentially dangerous. Driving there is already a challenge (26 km from La Laguna, 1 hour needed) although there are far more trick roads on Tenerife (try Masca and Sauzal costa). This beach is covered in very fine black, shiny sand. The waves are strong, and many rocks are scattered at unknown depths. Because access takes quite some time and effort (many stairs) it is worth spending at least...
Read moreBeautiful panorama from the top. Nice beach with strong waves. Strong current, beware! Not as clean as the nearby Playa Almáciga though. Do not stay under the cliff due to loose rocks! To access from Almáciga, walk along the road until you reach the parking lot and take steep stairs down. There is another very rocky path along the coast from Almáciga, but I don't recommend it (You can see it in my pictures) . Even when I had hiking shoes on, I had to choose each and every rock to step on to...
