Time, I am afraid, to out a truly disappointing company and customer experience. They have had weeks to resolve it and have failed, so now it is time... Imagine, if you will, years of your good friends in Spain raving about this wonderful Cava producer, always ordering a bottle of their product when you are out to dinner, telling you that one day, we will go and taste and buy some of their outstanding products. Envisage what it was like finally to be making that journey early this Spring - we were all geared up, my friends had called and made an appointment, telling the owners and managers very clearly that they were bringing a friend who was keen to buy a decent quantity of wine. Take a moment to imagine me, Jane and Tony, enjoying a few glasses of some of the different vintages and products, with an enthusiastic young employee who encouraged us to keep on trying different wines. The glasses used to serve were small but tasty. We had a lovely time. Imagine the excitement of finally experiencing the top notch products of this legendary brand and deciding to invest over €250 in buying 2 cases of wine. And then, imagine the shock and horror of being charged for the tasting. Not once were we told there would be a charge. There never had been before. Never was it clear that this would happen. And what is more, to charge almost 50 euros for a few small tasting glasses, when I have spent that much is disappointing to say the least. My friends have very kindly tried to remonstrate with the staff at the producer. They have done so via phone calls and emails. The emails went unanswered. The phone calls were a mix of embarrassment and arrogance. My friends have been taking their friends to this place for over 20 years. Some of them have spent thousands there. They have said they are never going back. Now, maybe this is the kind of thing that LLOPART do not care about. Maybe this is just "too small" for them, and they don't mind losing clients. But if I were them, I would be regretting taking the intransigent and haughty attitude they did. THE END OF A LEGEND. Story and reputation are so key and they have blown it, totally. They did not need to - they were given multiple chances to make right their...
Read moreWe had such a fantastic time on the tour and cava tasting. This is one of those classic small family owned, high quality vineyards, and really beautiful. The tour is at a laid back pace and packed with details about the history of the Llopart property and family, how they make their cava, as well as the region. This is not a mass market, high volume producer, so they did not have the crowds you normally see on certain vineyard tours. We happened to be the only ones visiting just then, and this made it feel much more intimate and less crowded, and made asking questions much nicer--it certainly didn't feel like a tourist attraction.
The vineyard, main building and cellars are beautiful and the views of Montserrat and the valley are amazing.
But the highlight was the tasting. We tried three very high quality Cavas (DO Corpinnat) and they were all fantastic. The tasting was accompanied with local jamon iberico, fuet (a typical Catalan dry cured sausage) and local cheese. We tried a rosé and two white, all three were excellent and surprisingly different from each other. There are other tasting options, and even an option to join the family owners for lunch in their country house, but we were very happy with the basic option. Side note, it was kid friendly, and our two kids really enjoyed "most" which is the grape juice which they use to make one of their Cavas.
I highly recommend visiting, and I'm looking forward to returning with other family...
Read moreReally awesome service and corpinnat!! We arrived only at 1130am on a Saturday and couldn’t make it for any tours. However Michael was very nice to let us do some wine tasting, shared about some the history and answered our questions. He even showed us to the cellar which looked very clean and well organized. The corpinnats tasted really smooth and nice that we bought 2 bottles of them. We realized that the tour group had their wine tastings in the cellar itself which is so cool ! We would definitely go for the tour if we come to Barcelona again ! Thank you Michael for the hospitality! It made our day trip very enjoyable. All the best to...
