We visited the beach as we fancied a day out in our area to somewhere we hadn't been and we're running out of places more locally. Visited mid September. We saw plenty of free car parks near the beach. However, each one was full of over-enthusiastic fake car park attendants. These fraudsters appear in some tourist car parks in Spain, but I haven't seen them for many years. I think they're all on this beach now! Every car park we passed was full of them. We didn't pay the extortion money and they left us alone.
We were worried our car would be damaged as we had not paid their illegal protection money. So we only spent about 20 minutes on the beach then went back to the car. It soured the whole experience of going to this beach for us. The council should remove them. Most of them had South-American faces so could have been illegals. I have no desire to return to Bologna.
The beach was OK, but not that amazing. Just sand and some dunes. I grew up near some nice beaches and I don't think this one is anything to especially...

The seemingly endless beach, the softest sand I have ever touched, all nestled in beautifully with a green tapestry of trees and just gorgeous nature when facing away from the water.

even on a Sunday in late August it wasn’t difficult to find decent space between the umbrella, not to feel cramped in like many other busy beaches in summer. Especially the further you got away from the restaurant and the beach guard tower.
I do wish they would’ve had showers available though as that fine sand really gets into all three dimensions of...
Read moreWhat a beauty, untainted, natural, soft waves, across Africa, plenty of wind and sun, plenty of free parking and restaurants and bars and chiringuitos. To the west the Sand Dunes, breath taking place and view, hard walk to the top of the Dune but worth every steep, massive amount of sand the moves with the wind and at the top or what appear to be the top, there is more sand and sand colins, but at the real end what you find is...... I just can't tell because you have to walk, but if you pay attention to. My pictures you can see what I am looking for. Enjoy this nature beauty, have fun, explore the are, very safe and beautiful.... You must visit this town and all that it's has to offer including the Roman city of Baelo. No worries if you don't know where to go, just ask anyone, because they are very friendly...
