Here’s what you need to know in full:
There are a lot of mixed reviews on here, so my boyfriend and I were apprehensive about going, but the season is almost over and we live a 10 minute walk away so why not try! Here’s my unsolicited advice 🙃:
It opens at 11:30
Buy your tickets online, it’s cheaper!! (You can even get Groupon deals for it sometimes. Buying food tickets online is also cheaper, some of it by almost €5. You can also get VIP passes and All inclusive food passes, if you’re feeling bougie.)
However, you can take your own food and drink in with you as long as it’s not in glass or cans. (I can’t comment on the quality of any of the meals as we didn’t try them, I’ve had enough theme park food in my life to know it’s a disappointment for a foodie. There are many food stores around the area to grab what you need. )
The lockers are small, we paid €8 but it was worth it to keep our valuables in. (You can fit a small - medium sized handbag but not a fully packed rucksack or backpack so keep that in mind unless you want to buy multiple. We left our bags by a tree with towels, hats, food, drinks and everything else that wasn’t valuable and nothing was touched or taken.)
There are picnic benches you can use and they are free to use and plenty of them. (A few people reviewed making out as if everything was a paid extra and you had to sit on the soggy ground under the baking sun to eat your own food, that’s not the case. It’s shaded from the sun and a not vaping/smoking zone. The ground is also dry and there are cute little wooden umbrellas for shade)
They have waterproof cases station for your phone and credit/debit cards if you prefer to keep them out you these are by the lockers are you come in. (Unsure of cost but if you prepare in advance you can buy one online for cheap I’m sure. )
You do have to pay for a sun-beds, it’s about €6 for a basic one and there are some upgraded more fancy ones with QR code ordering if you prefer to live it up. (If you pay for VIP you get your own little area and extra perks)
We went on a Monday towards the end of August, it wasn’t that busy but you still had to wait to get on the rides. The wave pool was pretty lame by my boyfriend’s standards but it was about what I expected. If you have kids, they will have an absolute blast here. For adults keep in mind some rides have a weight limits so if your over 100kg be mindful that you won’t be able to enjoy everything they have to offer or have to go solo on some rides couples can enjoy together. You can still enjoy most things.
Lots of people said not to ride the boomerang so we took their advice, I pass it along to you, if you’re young and like to live dangerously I tip my hat to you. go for it!
Towards the end of the day they did some aqua aerobics which was funny.
Wear sunscreen and top up regularly. The UV index is usually 8 or higher during the summer until late in the day. Between 1pm-4pm is usually at its worst.
Whatever you decide to do,...
Read moreAfter reading lots of reviews about aquopolis I nearly didn't book it. However, I thought about it and most reviews are written from bad experience and rarely good experience. So I wanted to give it the benefit of doubt and go anyway.
I bought my tickets online as id read in the reviws that was the best thing to do so you can get straight in. We got to the water park at 11am to join the queue early. Mainly so we had a better chance of choosing a good base for us to spend the day. Once we got in we decided to go for a bahli bed as it ofered good cover from the sun. This cost €50 for the day. And it was right by the kids pool so we could look over our son whilst he was in the kids pool. for a family of 3 it cost (2 adults 1 child) €31.95 x2 and €25.95 x1. I also bought the speedy passes which at €38 each was alot of extra money and not exactly a bargain but it definitely made the quiuing experience alot better for me and my son. You get to jump straight to to front of the queue for when you are collecting the ring or mat for the boomerang/blackhole/rapid and hydroracer. This alone saves you about a 20/30min wait. Once you get your ring or mat you unfortunately do not queue jump the queue for the slide. But, your turn does come round quick enough. We did however queue jump the mini zig zag which requires no float. You can whiz down it and run straight back up to go again jumping the queue which was great because my son loved that slide. There is 3 of these and we found the slide closest to queue lane the fastest! The life guards are very much alert when it comes to safety and height restrictions. Which is good but annoying at the same time. My son is about 118cm and we queued all the way up to the top to go on boomerang. When it was our turn to go down the slide the lifeguard asked for my son to stand against the size chart and he was 2cm too short for the ride.... he was gutted that he wasn't allowed to go on. But, rules are rules and they are there for a reason so make sure you double check your kids height before choosing to queue! His height allowed him to go on the = Hydroracer, blackhole, rapids, mini zig zag. The food is typical fast food you would expect at a place like this. Bit pricey low quality. We took our own drinks in a cool bag. Beers, soft drinks and water. That helped keep the cost down. All in all I think the day cost about 300 euros. It was my birthday so I wanted to do it the best way for maximum enjoyment. I had fun and so did my son. Would I go again? Yes but not in a hurry. I did speak to other families who had been before and they said that normally the waterpark is way more busier than it was. This was a Sunday. Not sure if that makes a...
Read moreWe are a family of four, two adults, two teens. Hopefully this review helps planning for your trip to Aquopolis. We decided to avoid the early morning rush and instead arrived at 3.30pm after having lunch beforehand. Good thing was we didn't have to pay for parking and we went straight through at the gates. We got a discount code and booked online (visited early August 2025, weekday) so instead of €139 we paid €90.88. I would definitely not be happy paying anymore than that. Lockers are small so bring as little as possible. You dry off quick enough anyway. The lockers take card and cash. Many people just found a patch of grass and laid their picnics out and ensured belongings were covered over. If you're staying all day it would make sense to bring a coolbox and all your food. We got ice cream and drinks and it was expensive enough and the queue was not too long but the service was so slow! 30 minutes wait with only ten people ahead of us in the queue. They had run out of bottled water and chips so we got pizza which was very underwhelming and expensive. The ground is very hot so ideally wear booties (buy from the likes of Sports Direct or similar beforehand) as this way you don't have to take your shoes on and off for each slide. Some wore sliders and held them by sliding them up their wrists when going down slides. Others left their shoes/sandals at the bottom of slides, but other reviews will say that anything of value is at risk of being stolen, so bring cheap shoes if you are going to leave them unattended. The queues were what we expected, around 20 minutes to get onto a slide. The slides are just ok, we didn't bother with the wave pool or lazy river given the poor reviews for both. The adrenaline rides all had massive queues. There's reasonable shade while waiting for the slides but wear plenty of sunscreen and reapply often. Better still, wear a swim top. The ground is very hot walking between the slides. The facilities are clean and there's individual shower cubicles to get washed and changed. The picnic areas are all very well shaded. We thought the day was just ok, and probably wouldn't want to spend anymore than we did. Just be prepared for queues...
