I had the pleasure of visiting the Tienda de salinas de Janubio during my trip to Lanzarote, and it was truly a unique and memorable experience.
Firstly, the location of the shop is simply stunning. Situated near the gorgeous Salinas de Janubio salt mines, the beautiful landscape complemented the shop's clean and modern design perfectly.
The selection of products available in the shop was impressive, with a wide array of high-quality sea salt and related products. The staff at the shop were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their products, and it was a pleasure to browse and learn about the different varieties of salt.
What made my visit particularly special, however, was the opportunity to see the salt being harvested in the nearby salt flats and learn about the history of salt production on the island. This was a fascinating and educational experience that truly added to my appreciation and understanding of Lanzarote culture.
Overall, I highly recommend the Tienda de salinas de Janubio to any tourist looking for a unique and authentic experience on the island. From the stunning location to the high-quality products and friendly staff, this...
Read moreMy partner and I visited the salt flats for a tour yesterday (mid forties (age), April 2024). The tour was a small group of 7 people and led by Alberto. Although Alberto is Spanish and the others in the group were French the tour was thankfully led in English, so everyone could understand. Alberto was a fantastic guide; friendly, funny and informative. The salt flats themselves were very interesting, and well worth the €22 tour fee. Advice - I would recommend flat shoes, as although the ground is flat if you get a chance to go up the windmill it's a bit uneven. And be sure to wear sunscreen or take other measures - the tour takes about an hour and there is no shade!!
Overall I would definitely recommend this tour. Probably not interesting for children, but it was great to learn of the island's history and support the trade in the...
Read moreI visited this amazing hidden gem this morning. I'd originally spotted it while on the bus to Playa Blanca and wanted to find out more. I wasn't disappointed! As luck would have it, I was the only person booked on the 10am tour, so had the undivided attention of the fantastic guide, Martin. He is so enthusiastic and wanted to make sure that I really enjoyed my tour, happily answering my (many) questions. It wasn't the usual guide-led experience where facts are just given out, rather a happy sharing of knowledge. It was amazing to see first hand the production of this artisan product using traditional methods. The award-winning salt is so pure, it's even microplastic free. Well worth a visit if you want to learn something about the real Lanzarote and support the...
