Batticaloa Museum was founded in 1999. Today, it is located at Batticaloa Kachcheri. The small museum considered as site (museum) and administrated by the Department of Archaeology. Rare archaeological items including palm-leaf manuscripts can be seen there.
I think this museum is no more here. We visited Batticaloa fort recently but couldn't find this museum within it. We asked some people but they didn't know about it. There are no recent reviews about this museum here either.
The policeman at the enteance wont let me in, and is really not polite. It Is A shame. Just wanted to visit the museum and fort ?
